Wonderful end-terrace stone property in the picture-postWonderful end-terrace stone property in the picture-postcard village of Wylam, filled with modern fixtures and fittings giving you the best of both worlds, traditional and 21st century.

The village is the birthplace of George Stephenson, one of the pioneers of the railway; his house (owned by the National Trust) is within walking distance. Wylam is on the local branch line, so you can catch a train out of the village from one of the world’s oldest surviving ticket offices. You can visit the Roman town of Corbridge for historical places of interest, or the market town of Hexham for some locally grown/made food stuffs.

Pass up the front path via an ornate wrought iron gate and into the pleasing entrance hall. The lounge is on your right, and is host to some inviting comfortable furniture, a gorgeous woodburner and a TV/DVD for catching up on your favourite series or that film you’ve been meaning to watch. The combined kitchen/diner is well-equipped with an electric hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, and a microwave. There are also patio doors leading out the rear of the property.

The first of three bedrooms is on the ground floor level, which is a comfortable twin. There is also a WC nearby for convenience. Upstairs on the first floor you will find the remaining two bedrooms; one double and one twin. The bathroom contains a freestanding claw foot bath, WC and separate walk in shower.

To the rear of the property you will encounter a lovely stone courtyard with outdoor furniture. There is a second garden across the lane behind the house too for your usage. You have free use of the garage to store bicycles in. There is on-street parking for two cars.

Lovely welcoming house. Beds very comfortable. Great to have the woodburner. We had some issues with cleanliness which we have fed back to owner (no response yet). Furniture in living room very tired. Wylam is a lovely village/area.

A lovely holiday cottage. Very clean, lots of space, comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. We had a lovely stay and would definitely book it again. Wylam is a nice village with good walks nearby and ashort drive to the coast. The train station easy access to Newcastle and Hexham.

The cottage was very nice, well equipped kitchen. The heating could have been made clearer on how to get it on, but after a couple of cold days and nights I managed to get it on. It was a perfect location to visit family. I have just booked to come up again next year. Definitely recommend it, a very nice cottage, good sized and walking distance to Read moreamenities. Hide

Perfect location however feedback has been provided separately to the owners regarding the cleanliness & decoration of the property. Also the heating appeared to only be controlled by the owners - no instructions were in the booklet provided in the property. Such a shame as this house could be so much more!

A lovely cottage at the end of a little terrace. It was well equipped and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the log stove for one of the evenings, it reduced the burden of having the heating on and made the whole place really warm.

We stayed in this delightful cottage for the first time last October, and had no hesitation in booking it again for this Spring. We were not disappointed! Location is perfect for us with a very elderly relative nearby. Looking forward to our next visit, particularly with our love for Northumbria.
