Cherry Tree Cottage is a beautiful, single storey, much loved property located in the peaceful Northumberland village of Acklington, just a short drive from the popular seaside villages of Amble, known as The Friendly Port, with its bustling harbour and excellent restaurants and Warkworth with its magnificent medieval castle ruins, pretty village and gorgeous beach.

The cottage can accommodate 4 holiday guests in 2 bedrooms, making this ideal accommodation for a family or group of friends. If you’re looking for a country cottage with all the comforts of home, Cherry Tree Cottage offers a great range of facilities to ensure you have a comfortable and relaxing holiday, including free guest Wi-Fi, two wood burning stoves, efficient gas central heating throughout, off-road parking for 2 cars and a huge, WOW Factor, secluded garden and play area. The garden offers fantastic views of Northumberland’s breath-taking open countryside with the Cheviot Hills in the distance and you can sit here and enjoy the spectacular Dark Skies of Northumberland at night. And, as the property is all on one level, this property is also perfectly suited to guests with limited mobility.

Cherry Tree Cottage is ideally located for visiting a number of surrounding hotspots - including Alnwick Castle (Hogwarts and Downton Abbey fame!) and The Alnwick Gardens (15 minutes by car), one of the world’s most contemporary gardens with its spectacular Grand Cascade water feature, the Poison Garden for intrepid visitors and for a culinary treat try one of the world’s largest tree houses - The Tree House Restaurant! Alnmouth’s beautiful beach, village shops, restaurants and golf course with panoramic views is only a 15 minute drive and a little further on you will find the pretty harbor village of Craster, the coastal walk to Dunstanburgh Castle and The Ship Inn at Low Newton and for garden lovers, the stately Howick Hall Gardens - home of Earl Grey tea.

There is also a great local pub/restaurant around a miles from the cottage

Great cottage in a beautiful location- warm, cosy very charming property. Everything we needed was there, comfy, beautifully decorated. We felt at home here. Our stay in Cherry Tree Cottage was fabulous. The Cottage is located on a quiet road, lovely beaches and villages to visit near by. Morpeth town and Alnwick town are worth visiting , many small independent shops and restaurants/ cafes . We would definitely stay in Cherry Tree Cottage again.

A beautiful stone cottage with lots of character charm. The sofas were very comfortable The gardens are well kept and a pleasure to use during our stay. The location is excellent for visiting the nearby beaches and towns. We highly recommend and hope to be back soon.

Location is brilliant for exploring a lot of Northumberland. The secure half acre paddock is a wonderful bonus for dog(s) - and the night sky when clear was a joy to behold.

Lovely cottage set in a delightful garden with adjoining paddock - ideal for a dog to let off steam. We had lovely weather so were able to explore the surrounding area and the cottage felt welcoming to return to. This was our 2nd visit and weve booked our third!

Stunning cottage, which is well-equipped and laid out. For us, the garden and field were brilliant, our two dogs absolutely loved the freedom to run about, especially when the black cat appeared!!! Highly recommended, especially if you have dogs and or children, the outside space is great.

We stayed at Cherry Tree Cottage last week with our 2 dogs. The property was very well laid out, spotlessly clean with every piece of kitchen equipment you could think of. All facilities are there for a fabulous stay. It felt like a home from home , even down to the well stocked book shelves, record player and records and board games. A delightful cottage furnished with everything and more you need for a great holiday It is so close to Warkworth and Amble (Warkworth is a great village with plenty of eating places - do try Warkworth House Hotel). NT Cragside and Wallington within easy travelling distance as is Alnwick - The Gardens were fabulous. Great beaches close by too. Fantastic location, not far from the beach at Warkworth and Alnmouth. Very easy to get to Amble and Seahouses - good dog friendly pub - "The Bamburgh Castle Inn" quite large inside and ok with dogs. Cottage had very large garden which was super for 3 dogs, very cosy and we had a fantastic time, very relaxing. The local pub - Railway Tavern just up Read morethe road (closed Monday & Tuesday) - good food, very welcoming and very dog friendly. Ideal place. Hide

What a super cottage. Warm and cosy with all we could wish for and more. Loved the big garden for the dogs and would love to return to make use of the outside bar and fire pit!! It was just too cold this time. Great location, close to Warkworth, Amble and Druridge Bay.

Very satisfied with the cottage, with its location, presentation, and comfort. Our dog really loved the safe paddock, she tried to make friends with the local rabbit, but the rabbit ran off. Rika certainly got plenty of exercise. Thank you for the lovely bottle of wine, and biscuits.
