Charles Dickens House is a recently refurbished, beautiful, Georgian period conversion with high ceilings and original feature windows. The property offers 3 stylishly furnished bedrooms, sleeping up to 7 guests, with one ensuite shower room and a further family bathroom, Charles Dickens House is tastefully furnished throughout and offers spacious living accommodation in this much sought after location.

This excellent coastal retreat is perfect for any family or group of friends. With access to all sorts of fabulous local attractions, including a lovely beach walk to nearby Warkworth village and its independent shops, galleries, cafes, restaurants and pubs, not to mention the riverside walks, boat trips and the medieval castle! The friendly port of Amble is stone’s throw and home to a bustling harbour and marina, Coquet Island boat trips, a collection of must visit, quirky retail pods, the award winning Spurelli’s ice cream parlour and of course the fish and chips which are an essential holiday treat from here! You will need more time!!

For great days out you have The Alnwick Garden, Alnwick’s famous Castle and popular market town. For guests looking to explore further afield, the Alnmouth train station (bike hire from here too), the towns of Berwick-upon-Tweed and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The other lovely coastal villages of Craster, Howick, Beadnell, Bamburgh and Seahouses are all short car rides away. The village of Alnmouth itself also offers a great range of shops, good restaurants, pubs and coffee houses so, guests staying here will be sure to have everything they need to make for a relaxing and comfortable holiday.

Very close to the estuary and you can walk to all the amenities and the beach in around 5 minutes or so; however, the property is at the top of a steep hill and then up about another four steps. It is on the north side of the building so doesnt really benefit from the sun, but would be cool in summer. There is an area to sit out at the front but buRead moreilding works prevented us from doing this because of all the dust. Great position - five minutes walk from shops and pubs and five minutes from the beach. Well provisioned kitchen and comfortable lounge. Good sized bedrooms. Everything really clean and easily accommodated six people.

A lovely house with nice big rooms. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped. Close to all local eateries, although unfortunately one of the pubs was closed and one was not serving food.

Charles Dickens House is a comfortable, well equipped holiday home. There was plenty of space for the whole family and the location was excellent for exploring the area. We had a great time.

This is a lovely, well equipped property in the ideal location for exploring Northumberland. Its also a short 5 min walk to pubs and restaurants in Alnmouth. The property itself has been decorated in a modern and fresh way and is very comfortable for sitting and relaxing. The kitchen is a great size with a good sized fridge. The house is in a glorious area and conveniently located. I think the owner could consider some improvements to the house such as more cupboards in the kitchen as it is aimed at families.

What a wonderful place to stay. A 2-minute walk to the estuary, beach, play-park or village shops makes its location very convenient. The house itself is very spacious and very comfortable. Charles Dickens House is at the side of the building so not near the building work. The view from the seating area at the front of the building is wonderful. Charles Dickins is a lovely, comfortable, clean and well equipped house. Its spacious and the bedrooms have plenty of cupboards and a wardrobe each for unpacking. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Its in a fabulous location with the sandy beach and well supplied shops within a few minutes walk.

Warm, very comfortable and loads of room for six adults and two dogs. Close to all the amenities in a quiet part of the village. Lovely views across the Aln estuary from the communal area . We would use the house again for a similar family gathering.
