The beautiful sandy dunes of Beadnell beach can be accessed by foot or a short drive takes you to the car park next to the beach. The area is ideal for walking holidays all year round. An excellent base for those interested in geology and bird watching, The Long Nanny at the far end of the beach is a recognised breeding ground for many species that is only accessible out of nesting season. There is access to the Farne Islands from Seahouses Harbour where puffins and many other wonderful species can be seen whilst the seals rest on the lower rocks.
There is a host of water sports available at Beadnell Bay. The favorable wind directions and protected swells of up to 12 to 15ft make this bay a surfing and body boarding hotspot. The extensive beach is ideal for kite boarding on sand and on water. Many dive clubs use the boat launch facilities at Beadnell Bay to access the fantastic dive sites around the area. Surfing lessons can be booked and there is a sailing club in the harbour area.
Beadnell is a lovely village with a couple of pubs and a cafe. 2.5 miles further North is the town of Seahouses, where you will find a supermarket, gift shops, restaurants, cafes and takeaways. A little further up the coast is the lovely village of Bamburgh, with the impressive Bamburgh Castle as its backdrop.
