Home baked cakes on arrival, hot tub fired up ready, the cottage was warm and welcoming on a cold windy day. The cottage is very spacious, lovely bathroom and downstairs loo as well. everything we could want for a weekend getaway.

Beautifully appointed cottage, very clean, helpful owner and friendly welcome. If youre looking for a get away from it all location this would suit you well. The hot tub is a lovely bonus. We had a very relaxing break. The surrounding area is easily accessible with many scenic areas to visit in nearby Teesdale.

County Durham is a beautiful area and the farm is in a truly lovely setting. The property is well kept. However that means it is very remote, along an unkept track which seriously needs large holes filling in. A fifteen to thirty minute drive on country roads to any restaurant, bistro or decent pub. Thus make sure self catering is really for you inRead more anything other than warm summer weather. Hide

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.

Alternatively, if you’re seeking the bright lights of a city adventure, Newcastle upon Tyne is the place to go. Here, you can experience world-class culture, outstanding attractions, superb shopping, impressive live shows, top entertainers and delicious cuisine in abundance.
