This farmhouse property has been decorated in a traditional country style throughout, featuring charming soft furnishings and a neutral colour scheme. Original design elements such as feature fireplaces and exposed stone walls sit alongside contemporary kitchen and bathrooms, creating an entirely welcoming home. Prepare dinner for the family in the well-equipped kitchen, choosing from the casual breakfast table or a more formal dining table to dine together. After dinner you can curl up in front of the wood burner and enjoy TV, a good book or even a family board game. Excellent spacious cottage and the hot tub was a welcome end to a long days walking. Location is great for walking, take plenty of supplies as shops/pubs/cafe in short supply locally.

The barn is spacious yet cosy, with views over the fields. Only sheep for company this is the perfect break from the hustle and bustle. You will have to hop in the car for shops and the pub, shopping stores only 15min away max and a short drive for a pub lunch, try Crinnions in Lanchester. Youre local to lovely rural walks, woodlands and Durham. ItRead mores an easy drive to Gateshead metro centre if you want to do some shopping. We had a wonderful time at burnhill derwent cottage. The accommodation was spotlessly clean , with such attention to detail. Everything was though of, from the fresh flowers to the wonderful cake that Jayne had made to make us feel welcome ,made our stay feel like home from home. Lovely cottage, very clean, spacious, decorated to a high standard and well equipped. Lovely welcome pack was provided which made sure we had essentials including dishwasher tablets, cleaning cloths, hot drinks, milk and a lovely homemade cake! Beautiful views from the cottage. We had a lovely weekend break, Jayne has thought of everything. The cottage is beautiful. Comfortable beds and thick fluffy towels. The hot tub was a real plus, so lovely to sit out in such a secluded spot. And the cake on arrival was delicious, yum!

lovely, spacious, well equipped and warm! Very comfortable. Excellent choice. It is remote so glad the asda driver found us, but tesco is not far away. The cake, welcome pack which included kitchen roll, wash up liquid, antibac spray, dishwasher tabs and wash tabs and bin liners was great.

Wonderful cottage with fabulous views. Photos dont show how much space this place has, the garden is extensive and our dogs loved it. Our hosts had thought of everything with dog treats on arrival and homemade cake.

This property is just a great escape from every day life and work stress the location is stunning , But still only a few miles from everywhere. The wildlife is amazing the birds of prey and even a family of barn owls Flying by We have two husky puppies and the walks are just straight out of the door it was so nice to be able to take them . We went as a group of three couples and the cottage suited our needs perfectly. The facilities are fantastic with clear instructions and guidance on arrival. We are definitely considering returning in the New Year. We highly recommend and would encourage anyone to visit as well.

The accommodation felt like paradise! It was in the middle of no where on a farm but with shops and and amenities just 5 miles away. The perfect place and what we were all in need of! The accommodation was beautiful - every room with double beds and an en-suite Each and the log burner was so cosy and kept the accommodation lovely and warm. Doggie treats, cake and everything you could think of. The cottage was beautiful and the wood burner was great. Hot tub was a hit with the younger kids and older! Rooms were spacious and en-suites in every room which was a god send with the kids. A very pleasurable stay could have stayed longer thank you.

Beautiful barn conversion. We stayed in Derwent Cottage, husband and I and my in-laws , very spacious, ensuites well appointed. We have stayed in many places before and none have been so accommodating. The hot tub was wonderful, we lit it before we went out and it was toasty when we returned, bags of kindling were provided. The cottage is really well equipped, the hot tub was an added bonus, its in a great location for touring County Durham. Lots of space for us all, plenty of parking, and a great enclosed garden for the dog. Jayne was a great host, having the hot tub ready when we arrived and a plate of homemade cakes and flowers for us. Such nice touches.
