This farmhouse property has been decorated in a traditional country style throughout, featuring charming soft furnishings and a neutral colour scheme. Original design elements such as feature fireplaces and exposed stone walls sit alongside contemporary kitchen and bathrooms, creating an entirely welcoming home. Prepare dinner for the family in the well-equipped kitchen, choosing from the casual breakfast table or a more formal dining table to dine together. After dinner you can curl up in front of the wood burner and enjoy TV, a good book or even a family board game. Upstairs, you'll find two spacious king-size bedrooms with en-suites, ideal for mums and dads, alongside a family bedroom with zip and link twin and a single bed. Explore the beautiful North Pennines AONB on foot or by bike, enjoying the endless countryside surrounding you. Closer by, head to the Pow Hill Country Park (10.5 miles) for a calming walk around the Derwent Reservoir. For city breaks, visit beautiful Newcastle (19 miles) or historic Durham (15 miles), both bustling with fascinating tourist spots, fantastic eateries and enjoyable nightlife.

The accommodation felt like paradise! It was in the middle of no where on a farm but with shops and and amenities just 5 miles away. The perfect place and what we were all in need of! The accommodation was beautiful - every room with double beds and an en-suite Each and the log burner was so cosy and kept the accommodation lovely and warm. Doggie treats, cake and everything you could think of. The cottage was beautiful and the wood burner was great. Hot tub was a hit with the younger kids and older! Rooms were spacious and en-suites in every room which was a god send with the kids. A very pleasurable stay could have stayed longer thank you.

Beautiful barn conversion. We stayed in Derwent Cottage, husband and I and my in-laws , very spacious, ensuites well appointed. Towels provided all hotel quality and little touches around the property made it very enjoyable. Cakes and milk, teas and coffees if you'd forgotten took all the stress away. We have stayed in many places before and none have been so accommodating. The hot tub was wonderful, we lit it before we went out and it was toasty when we returned, bags of kindling were provided. The cottage is really well equipped, the hot tub was an added bonus, its in a great location for touring County Durham. Lots of space for us all, plenty of parking, and a great enclosed garden for the dog. Jayne was a great host, having the hot tub ready when we arrived and a plate of homemade cakes and flowers for us. Such nice touches.
