Ground floor apartment within 1 mile of the beach where romantic sunset walks await. Close to all the major attractions in stunning Northumberland's coastline and countryside. Ideal getaway for a couple.

Escape to the coast with a romantic stay for two in this cosy cottage. The single-storey property is located in the village of Beadnell, which boasts a fabulous sandy beach as well as two popular pubs. The cottage welcomes one dog, so is ideal for those looking for accommodation to share with their four-legged friend. As well as the quaint towns and villages nearby, such as Bamburgh (5 miles) and Alnwick (13.5 miles), you can also enjoy a day trip to the magical Farne Islands.

The ground-floor apartment has an open-plan layout; cook up a storm in the kitchen to enjoy together at the dining table, followed by a snuggle on the comfy sofa in front of the TV. From the kitchen, you’ll find a handy hallway, where you can store all your outdoor gear. At the end of the day, retire to the cute double bedroom for a good night’s rest. Outside, there’s a table and chairs where you can sit and read your book or enjoy a spot of al fresco dining. You’ll also have access to the large, shared table in the courtyard.

Stride out along the coast path to nearby Seahouses (2 miles). The pretty fishing village has a bustling harbour and a great selection of seafood restaurants. From here, you can board a boat to The Farne Islands for an afternoon of wildlife watching, including puffins, seals, and dolphins. The idyllic Holy Island of Lindisfarne is 24 miles from the property. Completely cut off from the mainland twice a day, the island provides the opportunity to fully switch off surrounded by the most spectacular scenery. At dusk, head inland to Northumberland National Park (20 miles) for a night of stargazing in an internationally recognised dark sky zone.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Cottage is ideally placed in beautiful village. Equipped with everything you need for short break. Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short due to a power cut.

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.

Alternatively, if you’re seeking the bright lights of a city adventure, Newcastle upon Tyne is the place to go. Here, you can experience world-class culture, outstanding attractions, superb shopping, impressive live shows, top entertainers and delicious cuisine in abundance.
