First-floor apartment within easy walking distance of all the village services and the beach for romantic strolls. An ideal getaway for a couple looking for a coastal base.

Escape to the coast in this cute seaside bolthole, less than 1 mile from the sandy beach as Beadnell Bay. The delightful apartment sleeps two guests and also welcomes one dog, should you wish to bring a four-legged friend. Surprisingly spacious, the property’s open-plan layout is a great place to unwind after an action-packed day exploring the Northumberland Coast. Head north to discover beautiful Bamburgh (5 miles) and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (24 miles). Alternatively, spend the day exploring Northumberland National Park (20 miles).

Eight stone steps lead to the front door of this charming first-floor apartment. Once inside, a further four steps take you to the open-plan living area, where you’ll find a comfy sofa and an easy chair arranged in front of the TV. The cleverly designed kitchen, with its striking tiles and skylight, has everything you need to rustle up a tasty dinner for two. The cosy double bedroom is decorated in neutral tones and provides a wonderfully relaxing spot to enjoy a good night’s rest. There is no outdoor space with the property but, with the beach just a short walk away, it’s easy to stretch the legs and fill the lungs with sea air, all before breakfast.

Beadnell Bay is a horseshoe-shaped sandy beach. The natural harbour creates perfect conditions for a wide variety of water sports, as well as being popular with bathers. From here, follow the North Northumberland Heritage Coast to Seahouses (2 miles). This bustling fishing village is full of seafaring character and charm. Dine in one of the exquisite seafood restaurants or enjoy takeaway fish and chips on the beach. Keen walkers should head inland to the Cheviot Hills, where you can climb to the summit of The Cheviot (27 miles), Northumberland’s highest point.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.

Alternatively, if you’re seeking the bright lights of a city adventure, Newcastle upon Tyne is the place to go. Here, you can experience world-class culture, outstanding attractions, superb shopping, impressive live shows, top entertainers and delicious cuisine in abundance.
