An idyllic cottage set on the edge of Rothbury offering fabulous views and a peaceful escape. The cottage provides a warm, welcoming place to rest after a day exploring the Northumbrian countryside.

Studded amongst the rugged wilderness of the Coquet Valley, Rothbury is a treasure trove of independent tearooms, scenic walks and local history. This charming cottage is a pleasing combination of contemporary style and rustic chic, offering cosy accommodation for up to six guests. Indulge in a little splash of luxury relaxing by the wood burner, recharging your batteries after a day of exploring the surrounding countryside.

Climb the steps and follow the gravel path to find a property characterised by lavish furnishing and attractive decor that combines modern elegance with period beams and exposed brickwork. The open-plan living space is kept pleasingly warm by the wood burner, and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking hearty meals. At bedtime, you’ll have a choice of three bedrooms with stepped access, including a king-size room with an en-suite shower room, and there is an excellent bathroom for long soaks. Outside, there is seating for sipping your morning coffee, and there is off-road parking for three cars.

Enthusiastic golfers will be pleased to know the golf course is just 0.5 miles away, whilst the keen fisherman will be able to cast their line on the River Coquet, popular for salmon and trout. For those interested in history and walking, the Northumberland National Park is easily reached via Great Tosson, 1.5 miles away, where you can view the remnants of the once impressive Tosson Tower fortress that protected the land from invaders. Hepple, 7 miles away, has a second fortress known as the Woodhouses Bastle which will appeal to budding historians too.

We wanted rural with a view and this provided exactly that. It was a Christmas away. The cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished. Comfortable and in our case decorated for the season. This was possibly the best cottage we ever stayed at after many years of this kind of holiday. The cottage and the location were perfect. The welcome pack was amazing. The night sky was wonderful on a clear night and visits to Crag House and Berwick were highlights. We hope to make a return visit soon.

Really lovely cottage, with a lovely view. Fixtures and fittings were of a very high standard and the beds were soooo comfortable. A very generous food basket welcomed us. We had a problem with the hot water, but the owners were very responsive and got it sorted without any fuss. The cottage was ideally located, approx 1.5 mile or a 25 minute walk from the centre of Rothbury overlooking the golf course and with stunning views down to the river and across the valley. The accommodation had everything we needed including SKY for the cricket and football. We did have one minor problem but that was resolved quickly by the ownersRead more. A lovely cosy and comfortable cottage in a peaceful location only a short walk from Rothbury. Many great walks straight from the door and a great location for exploring Northumberland. The cottage is well equipped and the welcome hamper was fantastic!

First time to Northumberland and definitely coming back. This cottage is probably the best we've ever stayed in. Everything you could wish for, amazing welcome pack, the views were outstanding and honestly felt very at home here. Absolutely fantastic cottage. Everything is clean, extremely well equipped and the views from the kitchen/lounge are stunning. The Welcome hamper was a lovely surprise, meant we didnt have to rush to the nearby shops straight away. Would definitely book again!

A beautiful property in a lovely area. The cottage is very well equipped and affords lovely views across the golf course to Rothbury. The superb welcome pack was a nice surprise and we enjoyed working our way through all the goodies. The cottage is well placed to visit places such as Cragside, Alnwick castle and gardens, Morpeth, Craster, SeahousesRead more, Amble and Lindisfarne.
