This is a lovely cottage on the edge of Rothbury golf course with attractive views from the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The cottage is very well furnished and equipped with quality items. A very nice walk, approx 15mins, from the cottage across the golf course into Rothbury.

The cottage is in a fantastic spot with lovely views. It has excellent decor, well equipped and with lots of little extras that were much appreciated. Any teething problems were dealt with immediately by the very friendly owners. The beds were comfy and spacious and it was very peaceful yet within good reach of many places.

We were very lucky to be the first guests at Armstrong cottage. We loved everything about it. It is in a super location with plenty of lovely walks from the doorstep. You can also walk into Rothbury across the golf course which is very pleasant. The cottage itself has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard with quality beds and beddingRead more and amazing kitchen equipment. As we were unable to go out due to lockdown it was wonderful to have a coffee machine and a lovely welcome pack with gorgeous cake crisps and wine. It was so disappointing to feel that we needed to leave early because of the restrictions. What a shame we were unable to explore more of the surrounding area but we will be back at some stage. It has become one of our favourite ever destinations. Many thanks to Angela and Doug for a lovely break in their superb cottage. Hide

If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.

Alternatively, if you’re seeking the bright lights of a city adventure, Newcastle upon Tyne is the place to go. Here, you can experience world-class culture, outstanding attractions, superb shopping, impressive live shows, top entertainers and delicious cuisine in abundance.
