The cottage is beautiful. It has a tranquil, traditional feel to it and is in a great location, close to the coast and Northumberland yet twenty mins from Newcastle city centre. The cottage itself is very spacious with a lovely garden. We were provided with plenty fresh towels, hand wash, toilet rolls etc. Everything you could possibly need us cateRead morered for. E.g. the kitchen was well stocked with equipment, crockery, condiments even all the ingredients to make a cake! This is super helpful as you don't need to bring essentials like kitchen roll, foil, tea bags with you. The owners were on hand should we have needed them. All of this added to a stress free holiday. The Kitchen is well equipped, with the majority of the items I would expect to find (although a T cosy would have been useful). If you’re looking for a seaside holiday with a difference, visit Northumberland – a region brimming with beautiful golden, sandy beaches, rolling hills, craggy moorland, bustling market towns and fishing villages, and more castles than in any other county in England.

Situated in the North East of England, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts no less than 39 miles of unspoilt coastline to explore and a calendar packed with exhilarating water sports options. To indulge in a spot of surfing, kayaking or powerboating, take a trip to one of the many breath-taking Northumberland beaches - where dogs love a good walk and fresh local seafood is never far away.

Home to the awe-inspiring Cheviot Hills and the historical Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park is renowned for its open spaces, award-winning Dark Skies and stunning rural backdrops - and is the least populated national park in Britain. Offering access to challenging hikes, horse-riding, rock-climbing and a multitude of other action-packed activities, the park is one of the region’s greatest draws.

There is a huge range of spectacular wildlife and sea life waiting to be sighted, whether you take a boat ride to the Farne Islands to admire the colony of Atlantic grey seals and puffins, or explore the Kielder Water and Forest Park, home to magnificent ospreys. If it’s history you’re looking for, the imposing Bamburgh Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Castle are undoubtedly worth a visit.
