The single-storey stone cottage is bursting with character, with ornate furniture set against a backdrop of fabulous period features and spectacular views. Enter the home into the impressive kitchen, and from here move through to the inviting lounge/diner with its beamed ceiling, plump sofas, and Smart TV. Gather here for mealtimes around the dining table as you take in the far-reaching rural vistas. From here, a step leads to a Victorian-style shower room and a hallway with space for storing outdoor gear. From the lounge/diner, shallow steps lead to the snug, where you’ll find a pair of Chesterfield sofas positioned next to a roaring wood burner. In summer months, open the French doors to let the outside in. The property has two stunning bedrooms, one of which has a four-poster bed. To the rear of the cottage, discover an enclosed patio with outdoor furniture and river views. You’ll also have a gazebo terrace with atmospheric outdoor lighting and two copper baths to soak in after a day of adventure. There’s also a lawned area with seating at the side of the cottage and a BBQ/firepit hut reached via steps. Finally, stone steps lead to a tranquil seating area just above the river. Private parking is provided for two cars.
Head into the park to enjoy a day of water sports and outdoor activities, or join one of the many tracks and trails that weave amongst England’s largest forest. You’ll also be close to some of the country’s most scenic long-distance walking routes, such as the Pennine Way and Lakeside Way. The surrounding landscape forms part of Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, so be sure to head outside on a clear night for a spot of stargazing.
