This welcoming holiday home on the edge of Wooler (500 metres) is an excellent choice for families or groups of up to five looking to enjoy a relaxing Northumberland break. You can easily stroll into Wooler to pick up supplies, enjoy a meal out or set off along one of the many scenic walking and cycling routes that begin in the town. With Northumberland National Park starting 1 mile west and the Cheviot Hills only 13 miles away, it's perfectly placed for walkers, cyclists and anyone who loves the great outdoors.

Inside, the bright and airy property has charming period features that create a pleasant space to spend your holiday. The light-filled kitchen/diner has large picture windows overlooking the garden – lovely for cooking and sharing meals together. After a day out in the fresh air, take your pick between two inviting lounges, both with gas fires and Smart TVs. The sunroom is ideal for enjoying morning coffee and cake picked up in a local bakery. A utility room and separate WC complete the ground floor. Upstairs are three beautifully presented bedrooms – a king-size, a twin and a single – along with a family shower room with a walk-in shower and WC. Outside, make the most of good weather in the large enclosed garden, which is mostly laid to lawn and bordered by mature shrubs. You’ll have a gazebo and outdoor dining furniture for leisurely al fresco meals. Private parking is available for up to four cars.

Nearby, take a ghost tour at the apparently very haunted Chillingham Castle (6 miles) or admire the striking rock formations of the National Trust's St Cuthbert's Cave (8.5 miles). Spend a day exploring the picturesque villages of Ford and Etal (10 miles), complete with a nostalgic steam train ride. The spectacular Northumberland coastline is also ripe for exploration – Budle Bay (13 miles) is wonderful for peaceful coastal walks, while the iconic village of Bamburgh (15 miles) has a magnificent castle, a beautiful sandy beach and breathtaking sea views.
