Spend time together out in the sunny courtyard garden or beside the flickering wood burner after long coastal walks and trips into Berwick-upon-Tweed. This delightful, dog-friendly holiday home is 2 miles from the most northernmost town in England and is in a superb spot for exploring coastal Northumberland. Set in Scremerston, it is 5 miles from the beach at Goswick and 8 miles from the Holy Island causeway.
Access the stone cottage by climbing seven steps and letting yourselves into the hall. Head through to the spacious kitchen/diner to put your provisions into the cupboards and fridge/freezer and start lunch roasting in the Aga. This fabulous space has a handy central island and a table with ample room for the six of you. The utility room, where you can rinse through your holiday wear, adjoins. Pass pleasant evenings together in the lovely lounge. Toss a few logs into the wood burner on crisp autumn evenings and open the French doors on summer days. Find a film on the Smart TV to keep everyone entertained. The family shower room is also downstairs. The bedrooms, all with Smart TVs and excellent storage, are on the first floor of the cottage. The family bathroom, with its stylish freestanding bath and walk-in shower, is also here. Bask in the sunshine out in the charming, south-facing courtyard garden on fine days. Cook out on the BBQ and gather round the glowing firepit. There is a useful outside tap for muddy paws. The cottage has private parking for two cars.
Make trips into Berwick to stock up on Northumberland produce, dine out and walk alongside the historic Elizabethan walls. Check the tide times and walk over to Holy Island when it is safe to cross. Follow a section of the Berwickshire Coastal Path up into Scotland.
