Really good location for exploring the kielder area including the observatory. Directions easy to find. Lovely, homely cottage.

The cottage is in a small village which has a very nice pub/restaurant and a shop, but very little else. Most places to visit are at least a 45 minute drive on country roads. We visited Bamburgh (Walled Garden is lovely) Seahouses, Holy Island, Alnwick including the Treehouse & Alnwick Gardens and Northumberland Zoo, which is amazing and highly recRead moreommended. The cottage itself is comfortable enough, however the stairs are very steep and really not suitable for children. There were several lights not working on our arrival, including the landing, which felt unsafe with the steep staircase. The cottage was very dusty throughout and the kitchen is in need of a deep clean. Beds were comfortable and we slept well, although as other guests have mentioned, the road to the front is used by a lot of HGVs. Access to the garden and the parking space is across a shared walkway and up 4 stone steps. Lounge area was comfortable with a coal fire as well as radiators, the TV has plenty of channels to choose from, however it is very small for the size of the room. Bathroom is also quite small with no bath, but the shower is quite powerful. In summary, this is a quaint property but it's ready for an update and the location is a little remote if you're planning to visit other areas of Northumberland. Hide

The cottage is comfortable, well equipped and in an ideal location to enjoy the Northumberland countryside and Kielder National Park. However there is some information that would have been helpful to know prior to booking. Dogs are not allowed on the sofas and beds, the enclosed garden is not attached to the property and dogs are not allowed to go Read moreto the toilet in the garden. The cottage was generally clean but there were cobwebs all over and crumbs on the kitchen shelf when we arrived. Hide

A lovely cottage and we and our wee dogs felt very welcome. The log fire was a bonus and the garden was lovely. Well placed for lovely walks of all abilities. The William de Percy pub is excellent for food and dogs are especially welcome.

Had a truly lovely time in Northumberland and Weavers Cottage was a good base. Shame the village does not really have a pub, but that did not spoil our enjoyment. Stairs are very steep if you have mobility issues. Met so many lovely people and saw some magnificent sights during our week.

Well-appointed, comfortable cottage. Comfortable beds and warm duvets. Some road noise into the night from passing traffic may unsettle nervous dogs. Otterburn seems to be a prime wedding venue village. We didn't try the local pub for this reason. A comfy cottage, well-placed for visiting this area, with beautiful scenery any direction you drive. Hadrian's Wall and Kielder Forest/lake are under an hour away, Lindisfarne about an hour 15. Well-stocked kitchen with everything you need, and great shower. Good bed (we slept in the back bedroom, to avoid some traffic noise at busy times.) I booked this lovely stone cottage for 4 nights towards the end of August. It was clean and comfortable, with all of the amenities and home comforts you'd expect. We also had 2 dogs with us who equally enjoyed their stay as well. The scones, jam and clotted cream left on the kitchen counter were a nice welcome to the cottage at the start of our staRead morey! It's ideally placed for getting about in Northumberland, and we were able to do a couple of walks during our stay, despite the bad weather. Hide

Lovely comfy quaint cottage - well equipped, had everything we needed and a few extra nice touches with fresh scones on arrival, and a few treats for the dog too! Garden is accessed across a shared alley way and as a few other posts mention the fencing is quite low so I imagine some bigger dogs could make a great escape if so inclined! So need to kRead moreeep to a close eye on them if outside. Lovely fireplace in lounge - we visited in summer so did not need to use but imagine this is cozy in winter Hide

A comfortable cottage, but with steep stairs & different levels on first floor. It faces directly on to the A68 which goes through Otterburn, so the front bedroom was quite noisy with heavy lorries passing throughout the night.
