Property code: OC-50500

This cosy stone cottage is the perfect place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The welcoming property is found in popular Bellingham, a village perfectly-placed to explore the magnificent Northumberland countryside and coast, all the while surrounded by lush green landscapes and historic, Tudor-style buildings that line the streets.

The village, close to the North Tyne River, offers up a range of activities and things to see, with an 18-hole golf course, fishing and walking routes - including the Pennine Way and the Hareshaw Linn - a waterfall and the site of early coke blast furnaces nearby. A stay here also means you'll be just 12 miles from Hadrian's Wall, while there are more than 30 miles of beaches to explore, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Northumberland Coast), many coastal villages, and the magnificent Bamburgh Castle.

Enter the cottage through the kitchen, of which the entrance is next to the parking bay. The kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and microwave, while there are plenty of storage cupboards to make use of. From the kitchen, a beautiful pine door opens into a lounge and dining area full of real country cottage ambience. A pine dining table, Welsh dresser, bookcase full of books, DVDs and board games are all available to enjoy while warming up in front of the wood burner. From the lounge, a door leads into the entrance hall where there are coat hooks and ample room for muddy boots and shoes, while the front door opens onto the street outside. Upstairs there are two bedrooms - one double and one good-sized single bedroom with wardrobe - and a bright bathroom with shower over bath and WC. An outside bench cries out for a morning coffee or glass of wine of an evening.

Lovely cottage. The kitchen was well resourced for self catering. The neighbours were very friendly. Easy access to nearby electric car charging. The heritage centre and Tea on the Train was a great way to spend a rainy morning. The route to the waterfall, Hareshaw Linn, was really well maintained and made a very pleasant afternoon walk.

The cottage was ideally located within a short walk of cafes, pubs and shops. It was spotlessly clean, strong pressure in the shower and extremely comfortable beds. Our car is a mini clubman which fitted nicely on the paved area in front of the back door. The cottage was ideal for the two of us and within easy reach of walks. We can recommend the buRead moretchers shop, the Heritage Centre and Fountains Cafe. Hide
