Surprise your loved one with a magical stay in the historic market town of Hexham. Sleeping just two guests, this one-bedroom, single-storey retreat sits right on the edge of the green expanses of Sele Park. It is also in a perfect position for visiting Hadrian’s Wall and spending time in the picturesque North Pennines or Northumberland National Park.
Let yourselves in via the metal gate and then your front door. Slip your footwear off and hang your jackets and bags before wandering through to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This cosy space has roof lanterns that bring the natural light flooding down into the kitchen area. Prepare romantic meals for two in this stylish space, then perch up at the breakfast bar to enjoy them over a bottle of wine. Make fresh coffee in the machine and carry it over to the sofa. Read a magazine, chat and plan the following day’s adventures. Cuddle up in front of the Smart TV as the day draws to a close. When you are ready to retire for the night, head through to the inviting king-size bedroom for a sumptuous sleep. There is also a modern shower room for you to freshen up in. Spill out into the park at every opportunity. Although there is no private outside space with this holiday home, the proximity of the park is a huge bonus. There is parking for one car.
Venture just 300 metres to shop, dine out and visit famous Hexham Abbey. Head 4 miles to Corbridge to potter in the shops there and see how the Romans used to live. At Corbridge Roman Town, you can still walk along the surface of its original main street. Travel the same distance to Hadrian’s Wall, where you can pick up the long-distance footpath that runs alongside it.
