Heading to the coast, be sure to visit the magnificent Bamburgh Castle (25.5 miles) sitting proudly above the long, sandy beach. Holy Island, Lindisfarne (21 miles) also has an impressive castle, spectacular scenery and an abundance of wildlife to see. Or why not take a boat from Seahouses (29 miles) to see the puffins on the Farne Isles.
