Property code: OC-CN048

With its picture-perfect backdrop where the River Aln meets the coast, Alnmouth is one of Northumberland’s coastal gems. The property is in the heart of the village, just moments from the peaceful estuary – where colourful boats bob on the water – and the golden, sandy beach. In addition to vibrant pubs and cosy bistros, Alnmouth is home to an idyllic, nine-hole golf course (one of England’s oldest), whilst just upriver in nearby Alnwick, history aficionados and Harry Potter fans will love the magnificent castle. South of Alnmouth is Warkworth with its medieval castle, and the fishing village of Amble, departure point for unforgettable boat trips to view the birds (think terns, puffins and kittiwakes) and seals on Coquet Island.

Charles Dickens House has been beautifully renovated to offer luxury holiday accommodation and modern facilities. Step inside this superb properties’ bespoke and stylish kitchen with a great range of appliances and equipment including an electric dual oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine and wine cooler. Start planning your day as you enjoy your morning coffee sitting at the breakfast bar. Leading off the kitchen, the elegant lounge is bathed in light from the feature window, with sumptuous seating, a wall-mounted gas fire and 65" Sky Glass TV. Here you can recline on one of the comfortable sofas after a busy day exploring, to watch a film or just enjoying a good book. The dining table with pendant lighting provides the perfect spot to enjoy your homecooked meals.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, all of which have been finished to an incredibly high standard, with thoughtful attention to detail. The first of these is a super-king-size room with a modern en-suite bathroom with shower and WC. Continuing through the hall you are met with two further stylish king-size bedrooms both with ample storage space. Finally, is the large family bathroom with shower over the bath and WC.

Outdoors, there is private, allocated parking for one car, with spaces for up to four more cars on a first-come, first-served basis. There is also a small seating area at the top of the drive outside the main house that guests may use, which overlooks the estuary. Regret NO children or infants.

Very well-appointed and spotlessly clean house, in a lovely coastal village, close to a number of popular tourist sites such as Alnwick Castle and Gardens. The kitchen was particularly well-equipped. Excellent location, close to the lovely waterfront/beach area and to the high street. We would recommend the wood-fired pizzas at the Red Lion and theRead more deli and ice cream shops on the high street. Hide

This is a really outstanding house, spacious, very clean and well equipped. We were intrigued by the bang on trend decor. Excellent location for the lovely sandy beach which is 2 minutes from the front door. We loved having tea at Howick, and at Barter Books in Alnwick. Cragside is great, and we also liked Warkworth.

Stunning village, right by the sea and village had great places to eat and drink, especially Bistro23. The house was chosen for its quirkiness - something different to home - and everything was as advertised. The welcome pack was exceptional, maybe a little too much?, and the house spotlessly clean. The only shortcomings are that the dining area onRead morely provides seating for five and the boot and coat area was not designed for Winter guests, probably perfect for the Summer. Hide
