Experience the magic of the Holy Island of Lindisfarne from this special cottage. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom haven captures views out over the sea to the mainland from its enviable position. Explore the island itself and make forays over into the wider Northumberland landscape when the causeway is revealed at low tide. Return to bask in the sunny gardens on warm days or beside the open fire when it is chilly.

Pause for a moment to take in your picturesque surroundings before ambling through the stone archway to make yourselves comfortable in the lounge. This cosy space, which has a wood-lined ceiling, is an idyllic spot for gazing out through the picture windows or watching the Smart TV as the open fire flickers. The sun-soaked kitchen/diner is the place to head to when you are ready to start whipping up a feast. Discover you have ample space and all the equipment you need, plus a dining table to gather round. There is also a WC down here. As night falls, climb the stairs to the first floor, where the bedrooms also have fabulous views. Choose between the king-size and the two super-king-sizes, one with zip-and-link beds that can also be arranged as a twin, and the other with an en-suite shower room. The family bathroom is also on this floor. Lose yourselves in your surroundings as you relax in the lawned gardens. Relax on the bench with a cup of tea, simply savouring the tranquillity. There is parking for four cars.

Head out to see the priory ruins, 200 metres away, then continue for 1 mile to striking Lindisfarne Castle. Bamburgh Castle, 16 miles away and on the mainland, is also worth visiting. Plan a day trip to the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, 13.5 miles away, during your stay.

A wonderfully spacious cottage in a fantastic location just seconds from the village centre yet tucked away from view in utter peace and tranquility. The views are stunning just sitting in the garden watching the tide come and go and the wonderful sunsets - bliss. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped and the beds are super comfy. Highly recommRead moreend eating out at the Crown & Anchor but maybe advise booking ahead for evenings as it gets busy. Loved staying at Bow Cottage and will definitely be returning there. Hide
