We loved our stay here. The lightness of the bedroom with its skylight and picture window, and large patio window were fabulous. It was such a joy to sit and watch all the birds on the feeders. Everything was very clean and comfortable, faultless in fact. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

The cottage was a great base for exploring Northumbria and a great base in the event of poor weather etc. However, for us, everything we wanted to see was at least an hours drive away (Vindolanda, Lindisfarne, Durham etc), so there was a lot of time spent travelling. The complete lack of phone connection was a real shock and reduced possibility of Read morespending time in the cottage. Perhaps phone reception is better in the pub? The local pub was fantastic; the landlord and his staff were lovely. Hide

Superb, well-furnished cottage with secure garden for the dog. There's walking for as far as you want direct from the cottage or by driving along the Coquet valley. It's convenient for the pub/restaurant in Alwinton and 5 mins from Harbottle with another pub/restaurant and a shop selling the essentials. No hesitation in recommending.
