Stay in the Dark Skies territory of Kielder Water and Forest Park in this cosy cottage sleeping four guests. The pretty cottage is located next to forest walks, cycle routes and opposite the striking Kielder Castle. You’ll never be far away from fantastic activities and, once you’re done exploring, you can admire the magnificent sky above you from the enclosed garden.

The inviting single-storey cottage is tastefully decorated using wood throughout. Spend an evening settled in front of the warming wood burner and enjoy the latest Netflix series in the comfortable living room. Just off the lounge is a sunroom which overlooks the garden and has a dining table and chairs to enjoy sociable meals together. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need for your stay and the bedrooms are comfortable, light and airy. You’ll also find complimentary toiletries in the bathrooms. When the day is done, choose between a king-size master room and a second twin room. Outside is an enclosed garden patio with furniture perfect for alfresco dining.

Wildlife is in abundance in this area, with red squirrels, a variety of birds and an elusive Pine Marten who is partial to a jam sandwich (chopped up into small squares) regularly visiting the garden. There are plenty of activities to do in Kielder and the surrounding forest park. Enjoy long hikes, canoe on the reservoir, go fishing, play golf or hop on your bike and explore on two wheels. Visit the spectacular Kielder Observatory (2.5 miles) and admire the Milky Way above while learning all about astronomy. Further afield, you can visit the sandy beaches of the Northumberland coastline or go waterfall hunting in nearby Bellingham (19 miles).

Cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The garden was not completely secure for those bringing dogs. The location is very quiet and I would recommend that you stock up with food in Bellingham as the opening times of local shops/coffee shops etc is erratic.

Lovely cottage clean comfortable and in good location Wildlife in garden a bonus Excellent pub just down the bank ( Kielder Tavern) for an early evening drink No fireworks which is what we wanted as our dog is terrified when hearing fireworks

We had a lovely week at the cottage, which was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed to cook from scratch (when we could be bothered!) and the wifi and free Netflix etc was excellent for relaxing after days out. Fabulous cottage. Well thought out. Warm, clean , well equipped. Good secure garden for a dog. You can walk out of the door and join many of the paths around Kielder forest without using your car. Lots of wildlife, such as red squirrels and pine martins. We would throughly recommend

Well equipped, high quality cottage. Comfortable sofa, comfy beds, pillows and good quality linen & towels. Very clean and warm. We had a fabulous week walking with our dogs in the forest and running on the trails. Lovely day out in Jedburgh & explored the forest drive. Would definitely return.

We have just returned from a week spent in the Kielder Forest, the area is quite remote and unspoilt, and we were ideally placed for walks galore in woods and around Kielder Water, directly from the cottage. The cottage has been very tastefully renovated and was comfortable and warm, providing everything we needed for a memorable stay. Lovely cottage, quiet location. We enjoyed just watching the birds in the garden. If you like seeing red squirrels bring peanuts for the bird feeder. We tended to see them at breakfast time and around 5.00pm. Would recommend the Osprey viewing boat ride - Wednesday, Saturdays and Sundays 5.30pm at the Kielder Waterside, about 5 miles away. Lovely cottage , very comfortable and had everything we needed. Great for the dogs too as garden was secure. Ideal base for walking and mountain biking but quite isolated as its a long drive to just about anywhere. Great holiday .x

A wonderful cottage, beautifully equipped and extremely comfortable. A lovely welcome pack for us and the dog. Warm, comfortable and well appointed cottage in a quiet, remote location which suited us perfectly - the photos do not do it justice. Kielder Castle was closed for renovations during our stay which probably contributed to the quietness. Nearest supermarkets are some distance away so worth taking some provisions with you - although deliveries can alRead moreso be arranged. Plenty of walks from the front door and Kielder Observatory is a short drive away. Thoroughly recommend and hope to come again. Hide

Cottage is excellent very quiet just what we were looking for Organised a Tesco delivery which proved to be very good way of stocking up Pub down the bank Anglers Arms ) was dog friendly so suited us Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again ( hopefully same cottage)

The cottage is spotlessly clean, super comfortable, very cosy and in the best location. The walking trails are endless, so much wildlife in the area, not least the garden visitors and there is lots to do across Northumberland if you do not mind a drive too. We have had the most relaxing break here and will certainly be back.

Good location for the delights of Keilder. Cycle store useful. Car charger will become a need soon, hybrid so fine for us. Do take food it's mile's to shop!

The cottage is an amazing space and place where you can totally switch off and refresh. The attention to detail in relation to the flow of the cottage, the colour scheme, the lighting, furniture and furnishings, amazingly well equiped kitchen, placement of hand towels in the bathroom/kitchen, means you feel relaxed and at home from the moment you aRead morerrive. A lovely cottage in a brilliant location right opposite Kielder Castle. A welcome pack including wine and treats for the dogs was a lovely touch. There are plenty of walks from the castle and a pub just down the road with a beer garden to call in on our way back and a great snack van in the castle grounds. Keilder Cottage was amazing. Beautifully presented and in a very lovely location. If you want peace and quiet then you won't be disappointed. A vast array of wild birds visit the garden especially if you keep the feeders topped up. Red squirrels also visit regularly and I was even lucky enough to see a Pine Martin on our second day. Keilder water iRead mores very close by and the walks and views are amazing. Be prepared for midges in the evenings. Looking forward to going back again. Hide
