This chocolate-box cottage enjoys a rural setting on the outskirts of Bamburgh, in the tiny hamlet of Glororum. The property, which boasts views of Bamburgh Castle, sleeps six guests and is perfect for families and friends looking to explore the quaint villages, sandy beaches, and dramatic footpaths of the Northumberland coast. Nearby days out include the historic town of Alnwick, the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, and the Farne Islands (via a boat from Seahouses).
The cottage is located down a private, single-track road. Inside, leave walking boots in the hallway, before moving through to the social hub of the house: a large, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with tiled floors, a bold colour scheme, and patio doors leading to the garden. Spend time here, cooking up a storm in the beautiful wooden kitchen, before sharing mealtimes at the breakfast bar or dining table. After dinner, relax in the lounge area, or head through to the main living room for a cosy night around the open fire. Completing the ground floor are two bedrooms – a king-size and a twin – along with a shower room and a utility room. Upstairs, discover an impressive super-king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and magnificent coastal views. The large, enclosed garden is predominantly laid to lawn, with a patio area for al fresco dining. The cottage has private parking for four cars.
Journey into Bamburgh (1.5 miles) to potter around the village’s cute boutiques, galleries, and gift shops, before dining in one of the many independent cafes or cosy pubs. Soak up 3,000 years of history at the iconic castle on the clifftop, before wandering down to the sandy beach for a sunset stroll. The Northumberland Coast Path passes through Bamburgh, and you can follow it north to Budle Point, which looks out across Holy Island, or south to the charming fishing village of Seahouses.
