An incredible, open-plan living space with a vaulted ceiling and a wood burner makes this stylish barn conversion really stand out from the crowd. Suitable for up to four guests, it’s ideal as a base for country walks, days at the coast and visits to Northumberland’s majestic castles.

Set among a group of other farm buildings, the cottage is reached via a mile-long, single-lane track. Step into the hall to find a utility room with a fridge, small freezer and washing machine, and a WC opposite. Two steps up, the wonderful living space combines lounge, kitchen and dining areas. Bathed in light, the space has high ceilings, beams and a tiled floor, and features a Scandi-style wood burner that’s perfect for creating warmth and cosiness. Whip up delicious meals on the range cooker, dine at the spacious table and then spend the evening relaxing in the plush seating, with the TV for entertainment. On the same level, a second hallway leads to two tranquil bedrooms, which share a family bathroom. Children will love the enormous lawn, perfect for games and running around, and there’s also a patio area where adults can dine in the fresh air while enjoying the views of the surrounding countryside. Another bonus is parking for two cars on the drive.

The cottage is located just 1 mile from a welcoming pub, close to the village of Christon Bank. In Embleton, 3 miles away, you’ll have a choice of cafes, restaurants and pubs, and the beach is just 4 miles away. Explore Newton-by-the-Sea, Beadnell Bay and Craster, all within 10 miles, or head to Seahouses, 9 miles away, for a boat trip to the Farne Islands and the chance to see seals and puffins. The location of the property is great and despite mixed weather we made the most of visiting the castles in the area and enjoyed walking on the nearby fabulous beaches.

Superb property, set in a quiet, private location. Great location for seeing the Northumberland coast. Well equipped, comfortable and warm. We were grateful for the EV charger, this was a real bonus. Our kids loved the big garden. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Very well appointed and cosy cottage in a secluded spot nestled in with other farm building and conversions. Down an unmetalled lane and away from traffic . Lovely big open plan living area, well furnished and very well appointed kitchen. Comfortable main bedroom and smaller twin prob ideal for kids but would take second couple. Heating system was Read moregood and responsive, property prob very well insulated as retained warmth well. Very good wood burner set in a central position maximises heat. Second toilet by front door. Main bathroom shower over bath only, but good quality ie not low power electric. Small utility area by front door with washing machine, sink, small freezer. Large private garden area with outdoor table and seating. This place is a wee gem, Id highly recommend and would definitely return for another stay. Hide

A lovely cottage, beautiful light and airy space, very well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable all round. Garden is laid to a large grassed area, peaceful and tranquil. Excellent dark skies for stars with the added bonus of barn owls flying over.

Had such a good time at Croft Cottage, the garden was amazing and had long evenings just playing with our two young children, the cottage was just beautiful, the location was great, out the way but close enough to so many great adventures, really enjoyed out stay, would defiantly stay here again.
