Indulge in a peaceful retreat at this stone cottage just outside Belford. Sleeping five people across three bedrooms, it’s perfect for small families or groups of friends who want to exchange the hustle and bustle of everyday life for some tranquil time in the Northumberland countryside. Spend a lovely morning roaming the beach at Bamburgh before you head to its iconic castle for the afternoon. In the evening, return to the cottage to host a fun BBQ feast on the pretty patio.

When it’s time to eat, head to the country-style kitchen/dining area and rustle up some dinner. Alternatively, open the French doors and make your way out into the enclosed patio garden, fire up a BBQ and dine alfresco while you enjoy the country views. A really peaceful place to stay, with a sun trap front garden and the swallows diving around. We saw 6 hares on the road one night on the way home. The cottage is in a great location, close to the A1 so you have easy access up to the Scottish Borders as well as the coast and countryside of Northumberland. The cottage is well equipped and offers a great selection of books and leaflets to tell you more about the local area. The visiting house martins were wonderful as is the rest of the wildlifeRead more around the property. The views are lovely and far reaching, waking up and looking out to the view and hearing the sheep was bliss. We had a fantastic visit to Northumberland and the cottage was a great base to explore the surrounding area. We even took a trip to Edinburgh, taking the train from Berwick Upon Tweed. Hide
