Located on a peaceful development just 1 mile from Bamburgh, this stylish one-bedroom retreat makes a cheerful base for couples or solo adventurers eager to explore the spectacular Northumberland coast. Dip in and out of the village’s charming cafes, seafood spots, boutiques, and gift shops whenever the mood strikes – all watched over by Bamburgh’s magnificent 1,400-year-old castle set high above the beach (both within 1.5 miles).
Everything is on one floor, with calming decor, gorgeous oak beams and thoughtful touches throughout. On arrival, drop sandy shoes and coats in the hallway before stepping into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This wonderfully bright space has wooden floors and a vaulted ceiling for a spacious and welcoming feel. Watch the Smart TV curled up on the sofa, perhaps lighting up the flame-effect electric fire if it’s nippy. The kitchen has everything you need for cosy meals, to be enjoyed at the dining table. When it’s time to turn in, the king-size bedroom has plush linens, blackout blinds and direct access to the contemporary bathroom (also reachable from the hallway). Outside, the enclosed courtyard garden doubles as the driveway and provides a sheltered spot with a table and chairs for fresh-air drinks on mild evenings. There’s also private parking for one car.
Stride out on seaside wanders locally or head 4 miles along the coast to colourful Seahouses – here you can tuck into classic fish and chips or board a boat to the wildlife-rich Farne Islands. History lovers can plan a day at the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (16 miles), while keen walkers will relish the dramatic landscapes and remote trails of Northumberland National Park (15 miles).
