This elegant period cottage, set in the heart of the pretty coastal village of Warkworth, is perfect for couples and small groups looking for a peaceful escape. It’s an ideal base from which to explore Northumberland’s coast and countryside. The property is less than a mile from a magnificent sandy beach, perfect for walks and water sports, offering views of Coquet Island. Step out from your door to browse the shops or visit the medieval castle. Nearby Amble (2 miles), on the River Coquet, is a bustling harbour village where you can take a boat trip to see the seals and puffins.

This marvellous two-storey property features a refined interior style with a boutique feel. The hall leads to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This sociable and stylish space benefits from an abundance of natural light through the Georgian window and French doors. Settle on the plush sofa or chair to chat or watch your favourite series on the Smart TV. Take two oak steps down to the kitchen/diner, where the glass doors open onto the deck and garden. The contemporary kitchen features all the necessary appliances to rustle up tasty treats. Upstairs, uncover two swish king-size bedrooms and an attractive family bathroom – one of the bedrooms offers flexibility with zip-and-link beds that convert to twins on request. Outside, soak up the sunshine on the decked area, play games on the lawn, or fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco. Parking is on the street and subject to availability.

Walkers can access the dramatic Northumberland Coast Path from the beach, with the 10.5-mile stretch between Warkworth and Cresswell offering a popular option. Two family days out are Druridge Bay Country Park, and the beautiful gardens at National Trust Cragside (both within 15 miles).

third time we have stayed in Warkworth, the previous two cottages were smaller, but was very nice, so we always expect a high standard, we wasn't disappointed, there was everything we needed, beds were very nice, a bit soft for me, but thats a personal issue, slight road noise in the front bedroom, but not enough to keep you awake, apart from that Read moreno problems, would definitely stay again. Beautiful cottage in a beautiful place. Ideally situated. Well equipped for all your needs, lovely well maintained garden. Excellent

The cottage is ideally situated in Warkworth with shops / pubs and walks to near - it is well equipped and has the added advantage of a patio and garden (both of which we used on numerous occasions as the weather was lovely)

Good location, nice garden to sit out in and very comfortable. Nice pubs and walks available in the village

Wouldn't recommend. Not a comfy stay, and difficult to switch-off from the road noise. Warkworth was a delight but if visiting again I would stay off the main road.
