The Hemmel in the hamlet of Warden is a delight and perfectly located with easy access to Hadrian's wall, Hexham and the A69 for trips further afield. Warden a gem and the church is fascinating.

The Hemmel is situated in a quiet hamlet. It has a secure garden for a small dog. The cottage was cosy, warm & well equipped with the living room upstairs. During our stay we visited many historical places from Lindisfarne, to Cragside, the Roman Forts plus others. Lovely cottage in a great position. Very peacefull. Fantastic village pub in walking distance if happy walking along a road with no pavement (we did it 3 times). Very close to the Hadrian's Wall attractions.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely part of the world, a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, clean bedding. Totally let down by the overall cleanliness and neglected garden. Had to clean the oven, microwave, fridge & run a dishwasher with dirty dishes. Not something that we expect to do on our holidays. The accommodation is comfortable, good lounge and beds with a pleasant garden, though a garden umbrella to provide much needed shade would have been nice. The cleaning of the house is rather neglectful of corners and cobwebs but overall a good stay in a beautiful location. Dogs are not permitted upstairs and the lounge area is on the first floor. NRead moreot obvious why as bedrooms are on the ground and first floor, but it may mean spending more time in the kitchen with a pet than expected. Hide

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful area. The building is charming with a unique layout. I particularly liked the small reading/stargazing room which I used for yoga, meditation and drawing. Beautiful cottage/ barn conversion. There was everything we needed but most importantly our border collie was very happy in her own very beautiful enclosed garden which was so quiet that she didn't find the need to bark. The village is charming with an interesting church with Saxon tower. The walk to Hexham was lovely. The local pub (The Boatside IRead morenn) was friendly and welcomed dogs. Sunday roast was delicious there. Hide

The house is in a lovely group of houses down a quiet private lane, but within easy access to the main road and a nice pub. It was originally done up to a high standard and a good layout, but is now a bit tired in places. The garden is a really useful space although a bit neglected. We had a very comfortable stay and a good week.

Very comfortable property in a lovely location. Upstairs bedroom is spacious with a large bathroom but unfortunately the downstairs bathroom was very small and not really suitable for 2 adults. The bedroom downstairs has no storage facilities. Very well equipped and ideal for visiting Northumberland.
