Rafters is a beautifully finished, stone-built holiday cottage near Beadnell - with a light and airy atmosphere and excellent facilities, making it the perfect choice for a fun, family holiday at any time of year. The cottage is located in the small hamlet of Tughall Steads, and is just minutes from the stunning Northumberland Coast - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) - with nearby beaches including Low Newton (just 6 minutes’ drive) and the ever popular Beadnell Bay (only 9 minutes away).

From here, you can enjoy the best of both worlds - with access to breath-taking, country landscapes and wonderful seaside villages like Low Newton-by-the-Sea - offering lovely beach walks where the ancient ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle provide a powerful backdrop, followed by some hard-earned food and drink. The peaceful countryside is right on your doorstep - while Beadnell’s beautiful beach and crescent-shaped bay are nearby, where you can enjoy watching or taking part in a range of exciting water sports sports (such as windsurfing, body boarding and kitesurfing to name a few!).

Drop your coats, wellies and dog leads in the  entrance hall and head into the kitchen and dining area beyond. The kitchen/dining area is the perfect place to enjoy meals together and has exposed beams and a traditional farmhouse feel with cream units and appliances. There is an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine and a table seating up to six guests. The spacious lounge has two large sofas where you can relax and watch Now TV or Netflix. A feature fireplace with gas wood burner style fire is a comfortable place to cosy up in the evenings. Windows overlook the garden to the rear and the shared courtyard and parking area at the front. Stairs lead up to the master double bedroom with high ceilings and exposed beams. There is a TV in the bedroom and an armchair for your convenience. The two other bedrooms both have twin beds and a bathroom with bath and overhead shower, basin and WC complete the first floor.

Cycling from the cottage to any of the nearby beaches is a popular option - giving you an opportunity to absorb the beautiful countryside up close and enjoy spotting local wildlife around the area, with secure bike storage available on the property. Outside, there is a good size, enclosed garden, a patio area, outdoor furniture and a set of garden swings for children to play on. On top of all that, Rafters offers off-road parking for up to 2 cars, oil central heating throughout and free guest Wi-Fi you can use throughout your stay!

This is a very well appointed property in a small development of similarly styled cottages. It contains everything you could wish for in a holiday cottage close to Beadnell. It is warm and inviting and I would highly recommend it as we hope to return in the future.

Lovely cottage in complex of restored estate buildings. Quiet location set in countryside near to Beadnell. Good allocated parking. Dog friendly and fenced garden which suited our whippet and chihuahua. Easy access up and down the coast, wonderful beaches, and 30mins from Alnwick.

Gorgeous, spacious and very well equipped accommodation in a great location for exploring Northumberland. Lovely enclosed garden ideal for those with children and dogs. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the accommodation was a little disappointing and after a 6.5 journey a pint of milk in the fridge would have been welcomed but was sadly missing.

Location is really peaceful but you would have to drive for supplies or going anywhere. Definitely would recommend as really comfortable and friendly people. My family loved it. However..People do get a bit possessive about what they deem their parking spots .
