Caster Harbour is just moments from this chic three-bedroom cottage. Lap up the sea views from your waterfront garden, walk the coastal path to Dunstanburgh Castle and explore the village at your leisure - private parking is an added perk! One of Craster''s original fishermen''s cottages, this lovingly restored harbourside home today offers a tranquil base for a break with family or friends.

Park at the rear and head down six stone steps to the back door which leads straight into a handy utility/boot room, with space to store all your outdoor gear. A glazed door opens into the contemporary kitchen - complete with all the self-catering essentials - then a step leads down to the dining room. After dinner, unwind in the lounge where there''s a Smart TV and shuttered windows with a lovely view of the harbour; the adjacent hallway has front-door access to the water''s edge. When it''s time to retire, there are two blissful double bedrooms on the first floor, one overlooking the rear garden, and the other with a wonderful sea view. The family bathroom is also on this level, while on the second floor, a dreamy twin bedroom is set into the eaves and has a superb view across the harbour to the sea beyond. Soak up the sunshine and far-reaching seascapes from your front garden, just across the road to the front of the cottage, where there''s a choice of seating across two prettily planted terraces. There''s a lawned area to the rear of your holiday home too.

Shop for seaside-inspired arts and crafts, follow your nose to the kipper smokehouse or simply watch the fishing boats in the harbour, Craster is a great base for a laid-back break. Alternatively, stretch your legs with a mile-long walk along the coastal path to Dunstanburgh Castle, or stroll around Howick Hall Gardens and Arboretum (3 miles). The beautiful sandy bay and breathtaking golf course at Embleton are a similar distance, while Alnwick Castle is 6 miles, Seahouses - for boat trips to the Farne Islands - is 10.5 miles, and Bamburgh Castle is 13 miles.

We had a lovely stay in Fishermans Cottage. It is in a wonderful location, we enjoyed being able to sit in the garden and watch the sea. The cottage is warm, clean, comfortable and well equipped. There are fantastic walks from Craster and within a short drive. A very relaxing break.

Our first time to Craster and absolutely loved it! The cottage is in a great spot and couldnt be faulted. The only reason we arent rebooking is because it isnt dog friendly. We will be returning to Craster next year in another property where we can bring our dog. Thank you for a great weekend!

A beautiful cosy cottage in a stunning location overlooking the harbour. You really would never get tired of that view! The bedrooms, particularly, are beautifully furnished with very comfortable beds, with two of them enjoying that lovely harbour view. We were lucky enough to get some good weather and so were able to enjoy the pretty little gardenRead more across the road - the perfect spot for a coffee, while watching the comings and goings in the harbour. Being located right on the path that leads to Dunstanburgh Castle was amazing and felt like a huge privilege - a great walk to blow the cobwebs away and we even saw dolphins on one occasion. All in all a great holiday in a home away from home which we hope to return to one day. Hide
