Located within the grounds of a working farm, this former cart barn has been beautifully transformed into a charming cottage for couples or a small family, offering stunning views of the sea and rolling countryside. It serves as a warm and comfortable base for exploring the nearby coastal villages, complete with a private patio garden for soaking up the sun.

Three stone steps lead to the front door and into the hallway. Here, you''ll find a utility/boot room with coat hooks, a bench for removing walking boots, and a handy sink. The two king-size bedrooms are on the ground floor, each featuring a wall-to-wall window overlooking the patio garden. One bedroom has a glazed door providing access to the patio outside. A contemporary bathroom completes the ground floor. Upstairs, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner features dual-aspect windows, a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, and an open-tread spiral staircase leading to the mezzanine floor. The lounge offers a comfortable sofa and two chairs, along with a TV with Amazon Firestick and DVD player, books, films, and games. The kitchen has a breakfast bar and everything you need to prepare delicious meals. Gather around the dining table for shared dinners and plan the upcoming activities. The mezzanine floor has bean bags and a small sofa to relax on while taking in sea views from the two large Velux skylights overlooking the Holy Island Causeway. Outside, there''s an enclosed courtyard-style patio with garden furniture, perfect for sitting with a drink while listening to the sounds of the countryside.

From the doorstep, walk less than half a mile to the coastline and enjoy birdwatching at the nearby nature reserve. Drive to Ross Farm (4.5 miles) and take a scenic 1.5-mile walk to Ross Back Sands for an unspoiled beach and spectacular views of Bamburgh and Lindisfarne Castles. You can also cross the causeway to explore Holy Island (9.5 miles) and Lindisfarne Priory or visit historic Berwick-upon-Tweed (12 miles) and Bamburgh Castle (8 miles). Alternatively, book a boat trip to the Farne Islands from Seahouses (12 miles) or tour the magnificent Alnwick Castle and Gardens (18.5 miles).

A lovely, well equipped cottage in a perfect location. It was immaculately clean and we had everything we needed. The little extras and the welcome treats were very much appreciated. This was a great base to explore the area and visit all of the local places - Holy Island, Bamburgh, Berwick, Alnwick etc and the amazing boat trip to the Farne IslandRead mores from Seahouses. Wandering down the lane to the water's edge to watch wading birds in the evening was a lovely end to several of our days. We were blessed with great weather too, which always helps. Would definitely book again if we were visiting the same area. Hide

Corn cottage was a lovely place to stay for our holiday. Beautiful location away from busy areas but still easy to get places. There was plenty of space for the four of us, we particularly loved the top floor room which has great views and lovely light. Corn cottage is one of the nicest I have stayed in anywhere. The cottage itself is extraordinary because of its three levelsd; the chill-out area on the mezzanine is a lovely place to sit, read a book, watch the stars or the sunset and look out to sea. Its extremely well-equipped as well, both cosy and spacious with lots of thoughtful attention to Read moredetail. This in itself would be enough but the location, close to the sea, with views of Bamburgh and Lindisfarne, makes it very special. We had cause to contact the owners a couple of times for minor queries and they were responsive and helpful. One of us accidentally left something of personal value behind on leaving and this was later returned to us quickly and without fuss. So basically everything was excellent and then some, and we would love to visit again. Hide

Comfortable accommodation. A bit remote but we knew that before we booked it. Nearest shop about 3 miles away in Belford. Helpful owner tried to sort out the poor TV reception very promptly but we still had problems with the remotes. The WiFi is very poor, virtually non-existent, even for simple web-browsing. These wouldn't have been such an issue Read morein the Summer but when it's dark by 4.30 we missed good WiFi and TV operation. The accommodation was clean, quiet,comfortable and well appointed although some more basic cleaning materials would have been useful. Owner doesn't live locally but was easy to contact by phone and text and was very quick to get an engineer in to try and sort out the TV reception. Lovely cottage, we had a really good week. Blessed with the weather, got to explore the coast from St Abbs to Warkworth, all stunning and never far from a castle.

Corn cottage is a beautiful cottage in a really good location. Our children love birds so having a hide nearby and the loft space was fantastic for them. Being so close to the A1 meant we were able to get to all the places we wanted to visit easily and ventured both north and south. Corn Cottage is a beautiful cottage in a lovely location, ideally suited to visit the main attractions in the area. The cottage is on a quiet "farmyard" and arrival instructions were clear and concise. The welcome pack left by the owners was much appreciated! The cottage is "upside" down with the lounge on the upper floor and the bedrooms downstairRead mores. The porch was invaluable for wet clothes and footwear! A lovely courtyard can be reached from the main bedroom and there are stunning views from the upstairs reading area, overlooking the Wetlands of the National Park and Holy Island. The cottage is very cosy and nicely decorated and the beds are very comfortable. We liked the open plan design with the lounge, kitchen and dining area being together. There was a good supply of books, games and DVDs for those inclement days! The cottage is down a country lane so it was very peaceful, away from the main road. We felt that a car was necessary to get from place to place but I'm sure there was public transport available if you walked back up to the main road. It was a great base for exploring the local area and to return each evening, after a busy touristy day, and watch the sunset and listen to the birds was very satisfying. The one issue we had ,when the electrics tripped ,was easily sorted with a phone call to the owner who responded very quickly. We are hoping to return again in the future. Hide
