Nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Norham on the River Tweed, this charming cottage offers an inviting family retreat with its contemporary finishes, a private garden with a sun deck for al fresco dining, and scenic walks right from your doorstep.

Two stone steps lead to the glazed front door, welcoming you into the light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area offers plenty of seating with two comfortable sofas and two armchairs, perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure. Enjoy movie nights with the Smart TV and sound bar, or browse the selection of books available during your stay. Share sociable meals at the dining table next to the bi-fold doors, which can be opened in warmer months for seamless indoor/outdoor living. The fully equipped kitchen has everything needed to prepare delicious meals. Completing the ground floor is a gleaming shower room. Head upstairs to discover the two bedrooms. The king-size bedroom offers a lovely view of the castle and features a beautiful en-suite bathroom, while the charming twin bedroom, with single beds, has skylights to the front and rear, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere. Outside, the south-facing decked seating area provides a perfect spot to relax with a drink and enjoy evening stargazing.

The village features an excellent butcher, bakery, and general store, as well as a couple of welcoming pubs, all within half a mile of your door. Discover the ancient ruins of Norham Castle (0.5 miles) and wander along the beautiful riverbanks, where you can spot local wildlife. The historic town of Berwick (7.5 miles), with its castle, estuary, and beachfront, offers plenty of activities, including cycling and walking trails and a variety of arts and crafts galleries, shops, bars, and restaurants. Further afield, explore the Scottish Border town of Kelso and its racecourse (16 miles) or the coastal villages of Burnmouth (12.5 miles) and Eyemouth (16 miles). For a memorable day out, visit Holy Island (19 miles), Bamburgh Castle (25 miles), and Seahouses (27.5 miles) for a boat trip to the Farne Islands.

Sadly the accommodation needs some TLC the lounge area is great but all the mattresses need replacing it was like sleeping on a pebble beach. And the bed isnt king size as advertised. Also finding wee stains and 3 inch hairs on the toilet and hairs in the bed on the first day is very off putting - it did make me question whether the accommodation hRead moread been cleaned. Kitchen is small and is not equipped for a weeks stay. The location is great and Norham is lovely. Hide

Accommodation was perfect for the two of us, plenty of room to spread out in the lounge/dining room and comfortable seating. Dry but cold weather meant we were unable to use the outdoor space, but hopefully we can return in the warmer days! Beds are comfortable and the bedrooms, bathroom and shower room are a good size. The area is extremely quieRead moret with two pubs in walking distance, one that does evening meal and both doing lunch. Fish and chip van comes on the Thursday and is excellent. There are many walks from the house, the ones along the Tweed are all amazing with well kept paths. I have been visiting Norham since I was christened there many years ago and would definitely highly recommend this particular accommodation. Hide

Norham, itself, is a quiet village with easy access to surrounding area. Some issues were dealt with but realistically the property requires a deep clean and some TLC. It is an ideal location and it would be a lovely cottage if these areas were addressed especially the cleanliness.

Overall, the ideally situated cottage suited us well and all was very comfortable, clean and tidy. The heating was very effective as were bathroom showers also. The Welcome basket was much appreciated. Thank you Allan and Rosie!

A lovely cottage in a nice location and a comfortable place to stay. The lounge and dining area is cosy and spacious. The two shower rooms ( one including a large bath) are really useful. We really enjoyed our stay at Bow Well Lodge. It was clean and comfortable, with a thoughtful welcome pack on our arrival. We thought the location was excellent, very peaceful, with beautiful scenery all around the village and with two pubs within easy walking distance of the property.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is really conveniently placed for all the amenities Norham and the surrounding area has to offer. The welcome basket of treats was a lovely touch too.

Beautifully appointed cottage, very clean and provided us with a fantastic base to discover this lovely area. The Welcome goodies were a lovely treat, thank you.
