Tucked away on the northern edge of the stunning Northumberland National Park, this charming cottage offers the perfect retreat for couples or small families (and their four-legged friend) looking to escape into nature. With a crackling wood burner in the cosy lounge, gorgeous rural views and an array of walking, hiking, and cycling trails right from the doorstep, outdoor enthusiasts will be spoiled for choice.

Step inside through the courtyard entrance, and you'll find yourself in a bright, open-plan living area with dual-aspect windows. The lounge area showcases stunning views of Yeavering Bell and St. Gregory’s Hill. After a day of exploring, unwind on the two plush sofas by the wood burner, perfect for relaxing evenings in front of the Smart TV. The well-equipped kitchen offers everything you need to whip up delicious meals, then gather around the dining table for sociable mealtimes. Upstairs, you'll find two inviting double bedrooms with high ceilings that enhance the sense of space and light. A contemporary family bathroom completes the interior. To the front, an enclosed garden with outdoor seating is perfect for al fresco dining or simply soaking up the stunning scenery. The area is also part of a Dark Sky Park, making it an excellent spot for unforgettable stargazing nights. At the rear, there’s a second enclosed garden with additional seating, plus a courtyard area with a bench. An outdoor tap is available for rinsing off boots and paws. Private parking is available on-site.

Just 5.5 miles away, the lively town of Wooler offers a variety of shops, pubs, cafes, and restaurants, plus the Ad Gefrin museum and a whisky distillery. Further afield, explore the scenic walking routes of St. Cuthbert's Way or take a day trip to the historic market town of Kelso (15.5 miles) on the Scottish Borders, where you can enjoy a day at the races. The charming coastal towns of Berwick-upon-Tweed (17 miles) and Holy Island (22 miles), along with the majestic Bamburgh Castle (21.5 miles), are also within easy reach for memorable day trips.

If you are looking for a cosy cottage in a fabulous rural location this is the one for you. The views to both sides are amazing and the wildlife in the fields extraordinary. The cottage is equipped with everything you might need and the central heating and log burner ensure cosy nights in. This location is centrally placed for visits to Alnwick,Read more Lindisfarne, Alnmouth, Bamburgh and Berwick as well as providing lovely local walks in the Cheviot Hills. Hide

The cottage has been modernised but has kept its period style and character. The kitchen was a delight and the heating, efficient with the stove ready to use as a cosy back up. A delightful rental property ideally located to explore Northumberland with excellent walks from the cottage.

This cottage is perfectly located for a quiet "get away from it all" holiday. The views from the cottage are stunning. The location is perfect for walks straight from the door or a short drive further into the Cheviots. The coast is only 25 mins away. Mitch and Janet live nearby and were immediately available for the glitches we had due to StRead moreorm Amy and a wealth of knowledge in relation to the area. The cottage is well equipped, there wasn't anything we didn't need, and is warm and cosy. Wooler is only a five minute drive away with a decent range of shops to top up with supplies. We had an extremely relaxing and enjoyable week. The cottage is so homely, I dont think the photos do it justice, a perfect place to come back to after a day enjoying the spectacular surroundings. The location of the Cottage was perfect for us, love the peace and quiet and lovely to see Hares, Pheasants, Voles, Barn Owl, House Martin's, plus the Sheep and Cows right at the doorstep. Clean, well equipped, warm, and cosy, what more could we ask for. Very memorable week.

What really makes this cottage is its location in a peaceful valley surrounded by fields of sheep and cows and picturesque hillsides all round. There are hares in the field behind the property and it's just a lovely ambience. The cottage is compact and furnished in a tasteful if rustic style. We had a comfortable week, with everything you could need provided. We appreciated the honey and biscuit welcome. Our hosts kindly changed our towels in the middle of our fortnight stay. Of course the best part has to be the wonderful views over the hills, and watching the barn owl flying low over the meadow. A very relaxing holiday.

My partner, dog and I had a fabulous stay at Railway Cottage - perfect for walkers and people looking to get away from it all. Beautiful surroundings with walks from your door. This cottage is set in the most beautiful location, with lovely walks right on the doorstep. Railway cottage is a very cozy cottage in a stunning location for walks etc. nature at its best. The beds were very comfortable . The only thing we could pick at is it would have been nice to have the basics left on arrival like milk, bread.

This a fabulous warm and comfortable cottage in an ideal location for walkers cyclists and stargazers looking for dark skies. Loads of walks set up to find on the OS app. Lots of wildlife and quiet roads . A very peaceful location .

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage. It had everything you would need, & all kitchen equipment was of a high standard. Very warm and comfortable cottage, back yard is totally terrier proof, both double bedrooms very comfortable and the sofas in he living room are too, parking is ample and has everything you might need.
