The cottage sleeps five guests – making it ideal for families and groups of friends – and has a sociable, open-plan layout.

The cottage has been lovingly decorated and furnished to create a welcoming abode that’s full of homely touches and creature comforts. The room features a cosy wood burner, surrounded by two armchairs. In the evenings, spend time in the inviting lounge, watching a movie on the Smart TV or playing games from the selection provided. The three tranquil bedrooms are upstairs, and all boast relaxing, rural views. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room and there is also a family bathroom on this level. Outside, the enclosed garden has a raised patio area for outdoor entertaining, and there’s also a large lawn where children and dogs can play.

Home to England’s largest forest, this unique landscape is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and is also known for its spectacular dark skies. The house is amazing, we had loads of room to relax after our walks and the house is very dog friendly. The kitchen is great , you have enough utensils to cook a full blown meal . The bed was very comfortable all the bathrooms were lovely. The village is nice and quiet and some lovely walks nearby. We really enjoyed our stay.

Forest Retreat is an exceptional cottage and we loved every minute of our stay there. The location is unique - Byrness, a 1950s village set within the Redesdale forests - and the house is beautifully conceived. The furniture and equipment are all of a high standard and we adored the interior design. The cottage was also impeccably clean. Forest RRead moreetreat is over 400 miles away from where we live, but we long to return there. Hide
