Centrally located between the Northumberland Coast AONB (10 miles) and Northumberland National Park (6 miles), you’re never too far from adventure when staying in this splendid Chatton cottage. Walking, biking, surfing and boat trips are all on the cards close by, with splendid destinations including coastal Bamburgh (10.5 miles) and scenic Wooler (5 miles) only a drive away. The accommodation is a handsome semi-detached stone cottage with beautiful traditional features inside, ready to welcome four guests and a dog in a family-friendly stay that you won’t be quick to forget.
Original features including stone-flagged flooring and an inglenook fireplace sit beside antique-style furnishings such as wrought-iron bedsteads to create a truly inviting place to stay. Externally, you’ll find a utility room with space to store bikes, a furnished patio at the rear and a front garden where you can sit with your morning coffee and listen to the birds. Inside, you’re greeted with some seriously cosy spaces to curl up in, particularly the lounge with a wood burner, cushy seating and a Smart TV. There’s a dining table also in here, made for settling down at mealtimes with dinners prepared in the kitchen next door. The kitchen is also equipped with a breakfast bar for more casual dining. The tiled family bathroom is also located on the ground floor and both bedrooms, a double and a twin, can be found upstairs.
Known as the ‘Gateway to the Cheviots’, Wooler is an excellent starting point for so many walks in the neighbouring national park. Plot a circular route that explores some of the wild Northumberland scenery before dropping back into town to frequent a restorative pub or restaurant. On the coast, find many more appealing activities to fill your days with. The protected coastline is famed for having puffins and seals in its waters, so take a trip along the coastal path with your eyes peeled for this watery wildlife.
