We had a great stay in Cygnet Cottage, the cottage was very clean and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. There was a lovely welcome tray with essentials to get us started on arrival. Great Wi-Fi which was a big help on the wet days, there was also lots of games, books and dvds to keep the family entertained. This is a good property in an excellent location. Neighbours were friendly and helpful. Parking not a problem, even though it is quite a popular spot with locals for the walks and river activities. Great access to pubs, restaurants and walks. Bed a little soft for our comfort. There is some road noise all night from a main road with the bedroom winRead moredow open, but tolerable for most people. Hide

The cottage was very warm and comfortable and the location was perfect. The cottage met our needs perfectly. There were lots of little extras like coffee, biscuits, tea but what would have been better would have been toilet roll. We arrived on Good Friday after the shops had shut so no toilet roll was a bit of an inconvenience. Our only other recoRead moremmendation would be to improve the double bed. Every time we moved it made a lot of noise so we were constantly waking up and it sagged in the middle so it was hard to get comfy. If the bed was improved we would not hesitate to return and I will bring toilet roll next time! On the whole we had a very enjoyable stay. Hide

Overall we had a lovely stay at Cygnet Cottage. The location was brilliant with a great view of the river Coquet. The cottage had plenty of crockery, utensils, equipment and books and toys for entertainment. Some of the surfaces, doors, walls hadnt been cleaned very well and there had been a leak in the conservatory from either roof or radiator. ThRead moree water for the sinks was hot but Luke warm for the bath and shower. We persevered for a few days but then it was too cold to use. After contacting Original Cottages British Gas sent a man to repair it but we were given conflicting information from your staff. I asked if you had a key and was told yes. We went out and I received a message to leave the key in the safe place. I was then phoned by the owner that someone had to remain in the cottage and the British Gas were waiting outside the property. We had to drive back from Alnmouth and my husband stay in the property while I took the dogs out. We arrived back at 14.30 and he didnt leave the property till 21.30 and said hed have to return the following morning 9.30 till 13.30 so my husband had to remain in the property due to company regs losing 11 hours of our vacation. I wasnt able to return as the dogs would be reactive to a stranger in the property. The radiator in the bathroom then appeared to leak slightly. The shower was difficult to switch off fully and the radiator in the bedroom didnt work. Hide

Some of Cutlery and crockery had not been totally cleaned . Sofas and bed uncomfortable. These items dont detract from the fact that Cygnet Cottage is in a wonderful location

Lovely accommodation however, metal double bed could do with replacing as very squeaky. Radiators need bleeding. Kitchen conservatory cold, so could do with blinds. Mirror and windows dirty with smears. Hair bobble on bed post. Having said the above, it is a loverly cottage and the additional extras much appreciated

First and foremost we had a fantastic week in Cygnet Cottage. The property was in a perfect location in Warkworth and we have stayed in approx 8 other properties in the village. It was comfortable and clean but just a few small things made some of my scores a bit less. I would not leave a review with any of these things but it is really for your oRead morewn future reference and for the owner. There was a slight smell in the bunk bedroom and at the top of the stairs, there may have been a problem with mould or damp before in the property as it was this type of smell. Perfectly clean but just very noticeable when you went upstairs. It was good to receive a wee welcome pack but in previous places we have received a couple of doggie items and perhaps a fresh local cake or bread too. It would also have been handy if there were a couple of dishwasher tabs and washing machine tabs as a starter too. We did use the chairs out the front of the property but cushions would have made them more comfortable! With regards to the crockery/glasses it would have been good if there were prosecco/fizz glasses as well as the standard wine glasses. Don't want to sound moany, I just want to be helpful to the owners ( do they want to sell me the cottage?!!) thanks, Dianne Hide
