Experience a walking retreat at the foothill of the Cheviot Hills, staying in this cosy stone cottage in a quiet village location. Although remote, the village is well-connected with the eclectic market town of Wooler offering shops, pubs and restaurants 5.5 miles away. Further walking opportunities can be found in the Northumberland Coast AONB (13 miles) with amazing beaches and spectacular island views. Laid out with four guests in mind, the cottage itself is a fantastic bolthole with a wood burner-equipped interior space for cool evenings and a sunny lawned garden for warmer weather stays.

This single-storey accommodation choice features everything you need with an open-plan living space at its centre. The lounge/kitchen/diner creates a sociable space for relaxing in the morning and cooking, dining and resting in the evenings. There are comfortable sofas positioned around a Smart TV and the wood burner for added warmth and ambience. Two bedrooms can be found along the hallway, one a spacious king-size and the other an appealing twin with feature wallpaper. Both rooms are served by a family bathroom with a walk-in shower. To complete the property, an enclosed courtyard with furniture and exceptional views awaits.

Take in views of the Cheviot Hills and other surrounding spectacles when enjoying walks from the doorstep. Venture out towards the village of Ford to admire the splendid Routin Lynn Waterfall (4 miles) or explore the Ford Moss Nature Reserve (3.5 miles) to spot wildlife as you go. Further impressive wildlife is to be found off the coastline, with Northumberland famous for its seal and puffin residents. Head to Seahouses (23 miles) to embark on a boat trip out to the Farne Islands, a famed puffin colony, or take a trip across the causeway to Holy Island (15 miles) on a sunny day.

Spacious, comfortable, well appointed and very clean cottage. Ideally located close to very good pub and cafe (which also sells basic food). Lots of interesting places to visit not too many miles away. I would thoroughly recommend.

We were told 'you'll feel at home' when you walk through the door. Big expectation. So did not disappoint. Lovely home. Beautiful countryside, wanted for nothing in the cottage, or the info provided. New owners of the Red Lion (both) made us so welcome, was relaxing and chilled and were sad to leave. Enjoy!
