Set across a single storey, it is ideal for a family group and features a courtyard garden where you can relax out in the fresh air after your many excursions.

Open the front door and make your way into the hall, where you can shuffle off your walking boots or beach sandals and hang your jackets. Wander on through to the capacious, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you will all immediately feel right at home. Walk another 3 miles along the beautiful beach to Bamburgh, with its striking castle, which famously appeared as Bebbanburg Castle in the long-running TV series The Last Kingdom. I can thoroughly recommend this property having stayed here for two consecutive years. We noted an issue when we arrived, so I called Holiday Cottages to inform them and the matter was resolved in 30 minutes, so an excellent, professional service. Perfect location in the heart of the village and five minutes walk to the beach. The two bathrooms make it ideal for two couples or a family. More spacious than expected.

Great location with pubs and cafes very close all serving lovely food. The beach is 5 minute walk. The property was clean on entering and the beds are very comfortable. The driveway is Ok for 2 small cars or 1 large vehicle but there is plenty of on road parking close by. As mentioned in other comments you will get noise from people walking past thRead moree windows or while they are waiting for the bus but this didnt bother us. The bus stop is right outside and brilliant for getting around. A walk to Seahouses is less than an hour and if you dont fancy the walk back the bus service is good. We definitely will be looking to book again. Hide

poorly maintained and poorly cleaned between lets, so much so in bedroom there was empty durex wrapper on the floor, the bin in the bathroom not emptied. No user information pack on the equipment in the cottage eg heating, cooker/ Wi-Fi/ tv . The dust and detritus i swept up was more than a weeks. The courtyard with weeds and blow vent from restaRead moreurants next to cottage smelt of chips etc, so sitting in there was a no go. Furnishing were good strong and comfortable , bathrooms good showers. Beds comfortable. Bus stop outside was busy at times, the surrounding local eateries had almost daily deliveries outside the property, noisy. The village is growing fast and busy area, people constantly walking past looking in, Despite my negatives the cottage was ok, large and some strengths, the beach and surrounding area lovely. A little overpriced for the built up area. Reply from HolidayCottages.co.uk: Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, we apologies there were areas of the cottage that fell short during your stay. Please know that we have addressed the cleaning issues and have arranged the gardener to attend to the courtyard. Hide

Great little cottage, very good for two adult couples plus it has an additional two bunk beds in another room. The cottage was very clean when we arrived ( we are fussy! ) and is well equipped. Its also nice and spacious and has a nice little secluded courtyard. The cottage is right in the centre of the village with a pub, restaurant and cafe veRead morery close by, all of which are very good. You do get some noise and people walking past the property as a result, but the blinds make it feel private enough and at night (when you would want to sleep) there was no disturbances. From the cottage you can easily access the beach (less than 5 minutes) and there are good walks available, you can also walk to Seahouses in about an hour, where you can take a boat trip out to the Farne islands and Holy Island/Lindisfarne. Its also within easy reach of many of the tourist sites by car. Parking wise, we were JUST able to park two large cars on the drive, but chose to leave one on the road. If you had two VW golf sized cars you would probably be fine though. Hide

Well placed between the main places to eat in Beadnel. We loved breakfast at The Courtyard & desert at Craster Arms. It's 5 minutes walk to the beach & approximately 5 minutes drive to Seahouses. The beach near The Landings (for breakfast) is great for dog walks. The accommodation has modern decor, is clean & well maintained.

Iona cottage sits in a lovely location close to all of beadnell amenities. It has a very spacious living area with a well equipped kitchen and two large bathrooms with walk in showers. Bedrooms were comfortable and the outside courtyard was secure for dogs. Off street parking a bonus. A very clean and tidy cottage.

Fantastic base to explore the beautiful coastline & surrounding area. Sandwiched between 2 pubs/restaurants, plus a short stroll to the beach - we are already planning a return in 2025. That should leave plenty of time to sort the shabby enclosed courtyard area out, but the cottage itself is fantastic.
