Alongside its original 19th-century features, this fabulous cottage has been updated to feature contemporary decor that suits the clean walls and light-filled rooms. On the ground floor, a fabulous lounge/diner space with the comfiest sofas, a wood burner and a Smart TV invites you to enjoy restful evenings. Next door, find a spacious kitchen and a separate utility room. Both bedrooms are on the first floor, one with an en-suite bathroom and one with a large seating area by one of the property’s attractive arched windows. To complete the offering, a garden set to lawn sits at the back with outdoor furniture for mild-weather stays.

The beach can be reached in just half a mile, perfect for sunbathing days when the weather is warm and wildlife-spotting hikes through the dunes in the cooler months. A short walk along the coastline leads to Dunstanburgh Castle (2 miles), a remote keep with handsome ruins backed by exceptional sea views. Continue further onto the village of Craster (3 miles), an idyllic seaside spot famous for its delicious smoked kippers. We had a great time staying in this characterful house, set in a quiet village, close to Dunstanburgh Castle and Craster, and about thirty minutes by car to Lindisfarne and Alnwick. The house was comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The garden was well-kept and private. We found it a lovely place to stay and a great base for exploring the NorthumbRead moreerland coast. Hide

Also the house is great, at a great location, calm and very well equipped and furnished there were 2 main drawback: 1) the bed are too small for 2 adults 2) it can get real hot in the rooms with poor possibilities to cool them down and get some fresh air, because there is only one roof window 3 m up from the floor in one room. And in the second theRead more window is very hard to open and are not stable in open position with a risk to fall and break down. Hide
