Situated in an elevated position overlooking the magnificent Craster Harbour, this characterful cottage welcomes six guests and is perfect for a family seeking a coastal adventure. Sun seek on the beach, or take long walks through the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty before retreating to this welcoming home and dining alfresco on your private balcony.

Stylish decor and thoughtful touches throughout this cottage combine with characterful features such as stone-flagged flooring and exposed brickwork, to make this a real home-from-home. Spend time together as a group in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Rustle up tasty meals in the well-equipped kitchen and then eat together around the six-seater dining table. Afterwards, get cosy in front of the lounge’s warming wood burner and play games or watch TV. Two of the three bedrooms are situated on the ground floor, a small twin, and a double bedroom, sharing a stylish family bathroom. Upstairs is the master bedroom, which contains a king-size bed, a Smart TV, and an en-suite shower room. Spend mornings lazing in bed admiring the wonderful views. Finally, you will love the decked balcony, accessed via the ground floor’s bi-fold doors. Take a seat on the outdoor furniture, sip on an evening tipple and watch the sun set on the horizon.

Craster is a bustling fishing village, which contains several eateries and pubs. The village pub/restaurant right next door to this property offers up delicious seafood dishes, and nearby, you can pick up some of Craster’s delicacy, kippers (200 metres). While there is a small stretch of sand complete with rock pools in Craster, you can enjoy the pretty shores and water sports at Embleton, just 2 miles away. If you prefer getting active, head off along the Northumberland Coast Path, and visit the fabulous 13th-century Dunstanburgh Castle (1.5 miles).

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Harbour Masters House, the location is wonderful, and makes up for the fact that the interior is getting a little tired.

Our second stay at the Harbour Master's House! Excellent location in the middle of the village on the harbour wall. Fantastic views towards Dunstanburgh. Cosy cottage with every you could need.

No coffee machine as mentioned in details, only a cafetire . Kitchen floor and terrace NOT very clean when we arrived , yet the rest of cottage was clean. Pillows in main bedroom very lumpy as though been washed badly ! No towels left in downstairs bedroom . En suite shower tiles needs mould removal. Only mentioning these as love this cottage andRead more would be sad to see condition deteriorate. Hide

Superb location, decor & view from the terrace, this is the second time we have stayed at The Harbour Master's House, it's the view which is the biggest selling point. However attention needs to be paid to the downstairs bathroom's shower which had loose & gaping shower doors & looks like the grouting on the tiles needs a good clean. The seats in tRead morehe indoor terrace area, need some new firmer cushions on the seats, one especially is quite soft, we did mention that in feedback last year. Lounge sofas probably need some cleaning in parts. However we would certainly have no hesitation in returning again to this property. Hide

Quite a lot of niggles needed sorting at this beautiful property. Lightbulbs out, no corkscrew, shower thermostat broken, no plasters in first aid kit, dvd player didnt work, bins full when we arrived, heating set to far too high a temperature. Most of these things were sorted quickly, apart from the shower which worked only for our last morning. WRead moreere not picky people at all and stay in a lot of cottages, but this was quite a long list of things to sort. Whilst we appreciate it is rented year round, we were surprised that there were so many issues so early in the season, it could do with a full check a bit more often to iron things like this out. Weve stayed before (in 2017 pre extension) and the changes have really improved the property. Whilst we love the house, next time we stay in Craster well choose somewhere else. Hide

We had a lovely time, thank you very much. The only small quibbles were that the en-suite shower head needs repairing and the property temperature was set too hot for us with on-site instructions not to change or switch off the thermostat or heaters. Everything else was fabulous ??
