This intimate and romantic bolthole is situated in an awe-inspiring countryside spot and is ideal for those who love to adventure and roam on foot. Once a blacksmith’s forge, this property has been lovingly converted into a studio property combining contemporary styling with characterful features.

Inside, the open-plan living area set beneath a vaulted ceiling is super light and airy. Get cosy on the sofa in front of the roaring wood burner. Alongside the lounge is a compact, yet practical kitchen with everything you need to create hearty breakfasts, prepare delicious dinners, or even make picnics to take with you when you head out exploring. A useful little two-seater dining table is also provided. Adjacent is an alcove containing a king-size bed, set in front of large windows offering superb views. A family bathroom completes the interior. Outside of this quaint little property, you will find the perfect spot to sip on a morning coffee or dine alfresco of an evening, overlooking the rolling views, or stargazing when the night is clear.

Set in a quiet spot just on the cusp of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you will find walking routes close by to keep you occupied. Head off along the Northumberland Coast Path which can be accessed via the pretty village of Beadnell (3 miles), which has a wide and sandy beach, that is great for water sports, and some lovely village pubs. Alternatively, head 3 miles south to Newton-by-the-Sea, where you can visit the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle by foot.

Wonderful little converted forge with ample room for both of us and the dog, fenced off garden area. Beautiful location slightly remote but close to amenities and beautiful beaches. Countryside walks straight from the door. Cottage even provided O/S maps showing all public footpaths. Although i think local farmers remove some of the tall footpath dRead moreirection signs so you have to refer to map constantly. Only thing lacking was any form of recycling bin for the cottage itself that we could see. Hide

We have previously stayed at The Forge and were delighted with our stay on the first occasion and that's why we chose to return. We love the location of the property as it is perfect for exploring the coastal path and beaches in the area, but also offers somewhere safe and enclosed for our dog whilst we sit and enjoy the view across the fields towaRead morerds the setting sun in the evenings. The bed is wonderfully comfy and even though the property is compact, the fact that it still offers a bath is wonderful after a long day of walking. I'm sure we will be back to visit The Forge again. Property smaller than anticipated and dark inside. Needs another window. Dog friendly but fence to sheep field not dog secure. So unable to leave door into garden open.

The pictures on the website make the cottage look bigger than it is and the garden look bigger than it is. It was still comfortable but a bit of a shock when we first arrived. Perfect location comfortable and well equipped though.

You are known for your high standard of cottages and the way you look after your guests. We loved the Forge. It did exactly what it said on the tin (the website). Very easy - great place. A floor plan would have helped for the property. Logs were missing and we couldn't get hold of anyone to get any.

Compact and comfy. Good central location. Really like Tughall Steads as a location. Everyone is friendly in the nearby cottages and its nice to have people about, but at night the place is dark and peaceful. The stars are amazing. We spent a few evenings just sitting in the garden with our bottle of wine, star gazing.

We absolutely loved our stay in the Forge and fell in love with it from the start. Although small we weren't short on space and was incredibly cosy. The kitchen was well stocked. The welcome bag was a beautiful and well thought out touch as well! We only have two things that we'd like to point out: the hot water wasnt enough for a full bath despiteRead more not using it for anything else and we had to use kettle of hot water to fill it properly. And the fire is not safe to use as the door does not close properly! and should be checked. We checked for some logs as noted in the handbook but sadly there were none which wasn't a problem but it would have been a nice touch even for the first fire, as even summer nights get cold. Despite these we had a lovely stay and would love to be back again soon. Hide
