For a day at the seaside, journey east to the dramatic Northumberland coast, where you’ll find the pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth, Craster, and Amble (all within 20 miles). Closer to home, the National Trust’s Cragside Estate (4 miles) makes a lovely day out.
