Get away from it all in this chocolate-box cottage, nestled in the hills above Rothbury. The holiday home sleeps four guests and is perfect for families and couples looking to fully switch off and relax in beautiful surroundings. The cottage is a great base for walkers, with the lower slopes of the Cheviot Hills on your doorstep, as well as the remote landscape of the Coquet Valley. For dining out and shopping, the market town of Rothbury is just 2 miles away.

The cottage is full of rustic charm, with original features, such as exposed stonework, complemented by traditional furniture, homely accessories, and floral fabrics. Large windows bathe the holiday home in natural light and frame tranquil views of the surrounding countryside. Three steps lead down to the property and into the cosy lounge/diner, where a collection of comfortable seating sits around a TV and roaring wood burner. A dining table is set next to the window, offering hillside views as you dine together. You’ll find a further dining area in the kitchen, along with everything needed for a self-catering break. The property has two inviting bedrooms, one characterful double and a cosy twin (reached via a few steps), and a spacious bathroom. To the front of the cottage is an attractive garden with a bench to perch on with your morning coffee.

Rothbury is a traditional market town with a bustling high street and a good range of independent shops, pubs, and tearooms. The River Coquet flows through its centre, offering peaceful walking routes after a morning of retail therapy. For a day at the seaside, journey east to the dramatic Northumberland coast, where you’ll find the pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth, Craster, and Amble (all within 20 miles). Closer to home, the National Trust’s Cragside Estate (4 miles) makes a lovely day out.

Views amazing. Easy access to Rothbury and surroundin hills. Beds warm and comfortable. Heating questionable on chilly nights, and fire hard to keep alight.

The cottage was in a lovely location. A king size bed would be better it would put me off returning with such a small bed.

The cottage I stayed in was lovely, but it was a little out of the way. Perfect for walkers.

Pele cottage was clean, well equipped kitchen, lovely views to sit out in the Autumnal sun for breakfast on the basic ( but perfectly adequate)seat cum table. Comfortable bed, log burner, ideal area for walking and exploring Northumberland in every direction. We are used to low, comfortable, temperature with the main room being warm with the fire, Read morebut if you aren't used to lighting a log burner you may think it's cold. It's the temperature that we should all be used to, . The heating was set to 18degrees, which was adequate. We put the blankets on the bed which was lovely. We were a little worried about what we had booked when we read some reviews from years ago, but we needn't have. It's an old property. The back 'garden/parking area' isn't pretty but you aren't looking at that, it's the views that you see. Situated in a lovely little hamlet away from the hussle and bustle. Maps were provided with walks outlined. Perfect Hide
