The house is in a great location for exploring the coastal towns, the lovely town of Alnwick and several tourist sites. It is a short walk across the fields to Rennington and the pub there serves nice food. The footpath to Rennington is at the end of the hamlet off the road. The house is well equipped and had everything needed to self cater. DownstRead moreairs is spacious and for dog owners the back garden is fully enclosed. The main bedroom is a good size and reasonably comfortable. We did find the blinds let in a lot of light which, combined with the dawn chorus, meant we were awake early. There is plenty of wildlife in the fields and lots of birds to see. Overall a lovely weeks holiday. Hide

A lovely home-from-home holiday cottage. Really well equipped, warm and cosy. Plenty of supplies such as dishwasher and washing tablets, bin bags, washing up liquid, soaps, toilet rolls. Garden perfect for a dog being fully enclosed. Grass freshly mowed so was clean (no dog waste when we arrived). The TV had access to iplayer, Netflix, Amazon PRead morerime etc if you want to use your own login details. Fantastic location, 10 mins from Alnwick and 20 mins from the coast. We found a public footpath which lead to a farmers field to walk the dog but not a lot of options due to the road and lack of footpath. It was very muddy though as it had been recently ploughed We know Northumberland well and it was wonderful to explore the beaches, castles etc in the Autumn as a change to Summer. Everywhere is dog friendly. Hide

The house was lovely, clean, comfortable and in a great location for visiting all the main attractions Northumberland had to offer. The kitchen was so well equipped and the secure garden was great, especially for the dog. We had a fantastic week and would definitely stay there again.

Very comfortable stay. The only issue we had was the pub was located half a mile away but you had to walk along a road with no pavement. Enjoyed watching the wildlife in the field beside us. Ideal location for visuting all of Northumberland's high spots.

A beautiful modern property with so much space and light. Perfectly situated for visiting the Northumberland coast and Alnwick, Cragside etc. Parking and garden make everything easy. TV needs updating and mattresses a bit firm for our taste. A house guide with additional tips for local eateries or places to visit would be really helpful.

Overall this property was really nice to stay in, very quiet and peaceful location with great views of the sunset over the fields. Easy access to the local beaches and towns. Good facilities and enclosed, safe garden for dogs. Only 1 downside was the very creaky stairs. Unfortunately if you are a light sleeper you hear anyone using them at night! The property is fantastic and really well appointed. There was an oven glove missing, but a quick trip to Morrisons solved that. Great location, about 10 mins from Alnwick and only a few minutes from a number of beaches. The property was immaculate on the inside, but sadly previous guest(s) had clearly let their dog use the entire garden as a toiRead morelet, and I used 6 bags cleaning up after a dog which wasn't even ours. I don't think it should fall to staff to clean up, which is why I haven't marked it down, but it was definitely the dirtiest garden I've stayed in by far. We would certainly come back to this property, however we will not be booking through Original Cottages due to really poor service after we had left. We left 8am Saturday, and after we got home, we realised we must have left our spare car key fob behind in one of the kitchen drawers. As our car is keyless, you're support to report it to the police, however we knew the cleaners would (or should) still be there. I contacted Original Cottages and explained the situation. Was advised that they would contact the cleaning agency and call me back. No-one phoned and when I called back, I was told by another member of staff that my details had not been passed on and the cleaners would have left by now. They advised that they had forwarded my details on and assured me that someone would call me back, porbably the day after. No-one phoned, and we really needed to know whether or not we could get our keys back. I called again, was told that it wasn't possible to check the property until the end of next week. I explained why it was urgent and that this completely went against what i had been told by two other members of staff. The lady I spoke to said she would make a note and flag it up as urgent as that someone would be in touch within a couple of days - I'm still waiting. Obviously the fact we left the keys was completely our fault, but the way Original Cottages have handled this has been poor to say the least. All it would have taken would have been to contact the cleaning agency whilst they were presumably still at the property, pass on our details so we could arrange for them to be returned. I highly recommend the property, but not the company Hide
