Join friends and family in this spacious holiday retreat in the quaint village of Ellingham. The spectacular Northumberland coast is 5 miles away, with nearby highlights including Seahouses and Bamburgh. You’ll also be 10 miles from the historic town of Alnwick. In the evenings, enjoy dinner parties in the sociable kitchen/diner or entertain alfresco in the south-facing garden.

The stone cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished in calm, neutral tones. The bright lounge has a range of plump sofas set around a cosy wood burner and a Smart TV – the perfect place for a movie night with the family. In summer, throw open the French doors to further extend the social space. Upstairs, four elegant bedrooms await: three king-size bedrooms, two of which have en-suite shower rooms, and one zip-and-link twin which can be made up as a king-size on request. A sleek family bathroom rounds off this inviting holiday home. Outside, you’ll find an enclosed, south-facing garden with a patio for al fresco dining and a large lawn where children can play.

The colourful fishing village of Seahouses (5 miles) is well worth a visit during your stay. Potter around its bustling harbour and perhaps hop on a boat to visit the wildlife haven of the Farne Islands, known for their puffins and grey seals. The village is also renowned for its delicious fish and chips. For a day at the beach, head to the beautiful, sandy shores of Beadnell Bay (7 miles). This horseshoe-shaped, natural harbour is a popular spot for bathing, as well as a plethora of water sports. You’ll also find some stunning coastal walks branching away from the beach.

We had a lovely stay in this warm and comfortable house. It was very well equipped for a family holiday and furnished to a high quality. In a quiet and beautiful village and close to all the beauty Northumberland is famous for. Thankyou!

We enjoyed our stay very much, felt like home from home for us. There was a blip with the heating and hot water on our arrival, but this was sorted efficiently by the agents, extra logs were left for us and by the day after our arrival we had hot water ( heating was not required during our stay). We explored much of Northumberland and enjoyed the qRead moreuiet location of this property. Hide

Stone house is a fantastic property, well equipped, spacious with all the equipment that you need. The large bedrooms, beds and bathrooms are second to none and the house was exceptionally clean- would highly recommend and we will be back again soon.

All descriptions were accurate and communication before, during and after the holiday were helpful and well timed. We had a slight issue with the cot not being in the property but this was quickly rectified before the baby's bedtime so did not spoil our experience.

The bottom oven is very noisy, sounds like something is going to drop off. I used the top oven however I'm not very tall and had to use the plastic step stool to reach it. Also the lawn was like meadow grass over a foot long so we couldn't sit out in the afternoon sun. Fortunately a gardener came and mowed it on our last day. Otherwise the house wRead moreas perfect well equipped, clean and comfortable. Hide

No bed linen when we arrived and no way of contacting anybody out of office hours. Dishwasher was still full of previous occupants dishes when we arrived. It is good that there is a washing machine but unhelpful that there is nowhere to dry it. An airer or washing line at least would have been appreciated. The lawn was a foot high so the childreRead moren were unable to use the garden the whole time we were there. Nowhere to hang coats in the hallway. Could not bag all the bed linen and towels as requested as only two plastic bags were left. Hide
