With wonderful countryside views all around, this two-storey stone cottage offers the chance to get away from it all in a serene setting. The nearby seaside village of Bamburgh (1.5 miles) has plenty to offer, with its lovely sandy beach, clifftop golf club and wonderful castle overlooking the sea. You’ll find plenty to do nearby, such as kayaking, paddleboarding and long walks along the pretty shoreline. This beautifully presented home has space for eight guests over four bedrooms, so is excellent for a large family holiday or trip among friends.
The inside has a modern and stylish layout, with an open-plan living area where you can relax together cooking, eating and watching TV. A wood burner is on hand to keep you all toasty, and tasteful artwork adorns the walls for a visual boost. Large bi-fold doors leading to the garden fill the area with natural light. The kitchen has a huge central island with stools, so guests can sit and drink tea (or wine) while the designated chefs get busy at the stove. A large dining table sets you up for convivial family meals. Outside, a private hot tub allows you to indulge a little, followed by quiet evenings enjoying the fresh air on the furnished patio terrace. If you need it, you can also make use of the shared, detached farm building in the courtyard where there are games and space for larger dinner parties (up to 24 guests). Adjacent to this, a shared tennis court and a grass paddock give you more areas to enjoy.
When it’s time to explore the wider area, you could head to some of the nearby coastal villages, such as Seahouses (5 miles), Newton-by-the-Sea (9.5 miles) or Embleton (10 miles). At Seahouses, board a boat to the wildlife-rich Farne Islands, home to over a hundred species of seabirds. If there are any Harry Potter fans in your party, a trip to Alnwick (17.5 miles), whose castle was used in the films, is a must for the itinerary.
