Enjoy a peaceful retreat with your loved ones at this gorgeous single-storey cottage surrounded by the rolling hills on a working farm in the Craster and Embleton area. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, it’s an ideal retreat for families or groups searching for a quaint and quirky cottage while they explore Northumberland's stunning coastline and countryside together. In the evening, come home to the cottage's lovely courtyard garden and dine alfresco with your loved ones as the stars come out.

Step inside this traditional stone cottage and you’ll be greeted by an inviting sun-drenched lounge with an impressive skylight. Take a moment to relax on the sofa in the sitting area while you soak up the garden views from the wide glass doors, then head to the country-style kitchen to whip up some tasty dinner. Gather everyone together in the elegant dining area to eat while you take in the warmth from the glowing wood burner. Alternatively, make your way to the garden to dine alfresco while you admire the spectacular country views. After dinner, head back indoors to chill out with a glass of wine in the spacious lounge. At the end of the day, there are two beautifully styled double bedrooms with period features to retire to.

Head 4 miles to the pretty village of Craster, where you can pop into a local restaurant to enjoy a plate of the village's famous Craster kippers for breakfast – apparently they're the breakfast item of choice for the Royal Family. Spend a fascinating day exploring the medieval ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle (5.5 miles), which is perched dramatically on the coastline. Alternatively, pack a picnic and head to Alnmouth’s sandy beach (11 miles). From there you can take a short drive to Warkworth Castle (4.5 miles) or Alnwick Castle (5 miles).

Lovely accommodation. Well equipped. Weather was really kind for walking. Would recommend walks around Dunstanburgh, Craster and Low Newton by The Sea and also Bamburgh and Seahouses.

This is a fabulous, comfortable, well-equipped property, one of the best presented and thought-out we've ever stayed in. The approach to the cottage gives little away as to how lovely it is inside. The photos don't do it full justice. Great location for visiting superb local beaches, also Alnwick, Holy Island, Bamburgh and much more.

The parking arrangements are unclear. The parking spaces for the adjacent property are clearly labelled, but those for the Snook have no signs. We inadvertently parked in a space for the next cottage(not affecting their car), and then we were told by a very grumpy and antagonistic cleaner that if we must move our car or she would tell the officeRead more. A simple sign indicating where Snook customers should park is needed. Hide

We have had the most wonderful holiday. The cottage is splendid and the facilities are excellent. The location is ideal for all activities and is private and peaceful. Spend time visiting the many local beaches and heritage sites and relax in the cottage garden.

The cottage was lovely, the only thing that hampered our enjoyment of the property was the constant barking of the dogs in the nearby kennels. For this reason were were unable to open the glass doors or the windows during the day or night.
