Bamburgh’s magnificent castle and long golden beach are on your doorstep, with many other attractions within an easy drive. After fun-packed days, this spacious abode offers plenty of room to socialise and relax, including two living areas and a secluded, west-facing garden.

This sprawling, semi-detached holiday home has a relaxed elegance and a subtle nautical theme running throughout the decor. Shrug off muddy boots or sandy shoes in the handy porch, before entering the main living areas. The light-filled lounge/diner invites sociable evenings in, sharing meals around the dining table, then firing up the wood burner and snuggling on the sofas after busy days ofexploring. Double doors lead through to the sun room, where you can curl up on the sofa with your current read or dine alfresco on the patio while the kids and dog play on the lawn. Boasting modern comforts including a Nespresso machine and dishwasher, the sleek, contemporary kitchen leads into the garden and garage, which is fitted with practical laundry facilities. Upstairs, choose between a super-king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with underfloor heating, or double and twin bedrooms that share access to the family bathroom.

Amble over sand dunes to reach Bamburgh’s golden beach, or wander into the village centre to explore a selection of shops and eateries, and discover the magnificent castle. Gorgeous coastal walks abound, with Budle Bay 2.5 miles to the north and Seahouses the same distance south. From here, wildlife enthusiasts can hop on a boat trip to the Farne Island to see nesting seabirds and seal colonies. We absolutely loved our stay at Sandstrath. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and very well equipped - we had everything we needed. The location to the beach and Bamburgh was perfect - we could walk for miles with the dog. We were so lucky with the weather. It was just as glorious in the garden with the cows, calves and sheep just over thRead moree wall behind, as it was on the beach. Walking through the dunes was a bird watchers paradise. We cannot recommend Sandstrath highly enough. Hide

The cottage was lovely, the bedrooms really comfortable. When we arrived, the cottage was nice and warm. We had a couple of issues with hot water and missing logs for the fire, but Kelly dealt with our query amazingly quickly even replacing a broken bath plug for us at short notice. I couldn't recommend the cottage or the service more highly.

This was a lovely cottage in a good location but unfortunately the heating in the downstairs was inadequate and we were cold a lot of the time especially in the kitchen. The place was freezing when we arrived as the boiler wasn't working. There wasn't wood for the wood burner as stated in the description so we couldn't get that going until the neRead morext day. Even with the wood burner I don't think the room in warm enough as the one radiator doesn't give off much heat. I think for what we paid fir the week in February 900. We should have had to pay a further 100 on logs to try and keep warm. I think things would be better in the summer when the heating isn't required. Hide

Had a lovely stay, perfect location and short walk into Bamburgh and beach. Ideal for families. Lovely and quiet at night. Great view of fields at the back and grass dunes from front. Road is narrow, uneven not tarmacked and people do park there which makes it difficult to pass, drove passed the entrance to road twice as it is snugly fit in betweeRead moren houses. House was spotless upstairs beds are comfy and two lovely bathrooms, hairdryers in each room and nightlight/torches provided. Welcome packs and towels provided. Fully equipped kitchen although we ate out. Fridge, freezer dishwasher and washing machine included. Living room/dining room a bit small only 3 of us so not too bad but dining table seems squished in. Dogs not allowed upstairs or on furniture. Otherwise beautiful house would recommend it and would stay again. Hide

A lovely cottage in a fantastic location, a stones throw away from the sand dunes and 5 minutes walk into Bamburgh centre. The cottage was very clean, tastefully decorated and very well equipped, everything you could possibly need whilst being on holiday had been thought of. The garden overlooking the rolling countryside was a big bonus and we maRead morede good use of it with the weather being dry. The log burner was very cosy on a couple of the cooler nights. The lounge space was a little snug for 5 but perfectly manageable. Weve stayed in a few cottages in Bamburgh over the years and I would say this is one of the best. Hide

We would whole-heartedly recommend this cottage for the summer months but not the colder times of the year, as the provided facilities downstairs are insufficient to cope with bad weather. We enjoyed the location which is just across the road to Bamburgh beach and a short walk to the Castle and lovely village. The upstairs of the property is spacious and modern with two large bathrooms however the lounge area does feel cramped and the furniture is not very comfortable for a family of four. This could be resolved by updating the loungRead moree with a dining table in the kitchen area and larger, more comfortable seating for the lounge. Hide
