A family-friendly holiday home situated on the outskirts of Bamburgh. Ideal for small families and groups of friends, the property offers warm and welcoming accommodation for your seaside break. There are many wonderful walks to enjoy from the doorstep. The sandy beach, Bamburgh Castle and the village centre are all within a 1-mile radius. The village boasts a variety of pubs, restaurants and delicatessens. By day, you can explore the beautiful Northumberland coast and countryside, where there are countless opportunities for walking, cycling, golf and birdwatching. If you’re bringing a dog, simply cross the road from the holiday home and you’ll reach the sand dunes, which lead to the beach. Once you’re on the beach, turn left to enjoy a wonderful walk towards Budle Bay (2.6 miles), which takes you past the castle and along the beach. If you turn right, you can walk towards the busy fishing port of Seahouses (2.8 miles).

The entrance porch offers useful hanging space for coats and jackets. From here, enter the homely lounge/diner with comfortable seating, Smart TV and cosy multi-fuel stove. The dining table sits in the window - a lovely place to play board games or enjoy a family meal. From the lounge area, double doors lead through to the sunroom, which is furnished with a small sofa and provides access to the garden through the patio doors. The contemporary kitchen is fitted with all mod cons, including a Nespresso coffee machine and a dishwasher. A door from the kitchen leads out to the garden. In the garage, you’ll find laundry facilities and a WC. The garage is accessible from the garden. Upstairs, the super-king-size bedroom offers views to the south and west across towards The Cheviot Hills. This bedroom also benefits from an en-suite bathroom with underfloor heating (three steps down from bedroom). The double bedroom offers views of the Farne Islands and the single bedroom boasts views across the sand dunes toward the sea. The double and single bedrooms are served by a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Outside, you’ll find a rear west-facing garden with a secluded lawned area with borders, enclosed by a stone wall and fence. The outdoor space includes a patio area with countryside views towards The Cheviot Hills. Wooden garden furniture and a BBQ are provided for informal al fresco dining. The front garden is a hard standing for parking. The external garage cannot accommodate a car, but it has a drying area and is available for storage of beach gear, golf clubs, bikes and kayaks. The washing machine, utility and drying area, and a WC are also in the garage, which is accessible from the rear garden.

Sandstrath is in a great location only a short walk from the centre of Bamburgh, and a short drive to Seahouses. Plenty of places to visit in the local area. An exceptional property in a great position for our dog walking, beach-loving family. Ideally placed for access to Bamburghs beautiful beach over the sand dunes and only a short stroll into the village. The property had was spotlessly clean and had everything needed for a holiday. The webbing holding the bed slats together in the small double bed was broken and we had to replace the slats twice. This has clearly happened before as someone had tried to tie them together with yellow string. The steps down to the en suite bathroom would benefit from a hand rail. The garden had clearly not been maintained for some time.

Perfectly located for a stroll into the sand dunes or along to the village within minutes. We were blessed with good weather and benefitted from sitting out in the garden & enjoying the sun porch later in the day.

I was extremely impressed with how efficiently the staff dealt with the boiler breaking down. This was nobody's fault, these things happen. An engineer arrived within an hour and someone dropped us extra logs off for the log burner to ensure we had heating. We didn't use them as they sorted the boiler so quickly. Lovely place and really well equipped. Standard of cleanliness particularly in the lounge was not as good as it could have been. Cleaner when we left than when we arrived (hoovering floor and chairs). Cottage is in a great location however with lots to do on the doorstep.

A well-appointed house in a great location, just a one minute walk to the sand dunes that border Bamburgh's beach. The house has been recently refurbished with a well-equipped kitchen and modern bathrooms. There are lovely views from the garden overlooking fields.

Every was fantastic with the property, just the master bedroom mattress really need replacing. Re value for money I have knocked a mark off as it is criminal the way cottage prices double in school holidays. The property itself and location were fabulous.

We enjoyed a lovely holiday with my brother and his wife at the property which is is well equipped and comfy. It is only a short walk into the centre of Bamburgh. I do think the photos of the living/dining room are deceptive and it is much smaller than it appears. The cottage sleeps up to 5 people but there is only seating in the lounge for 4 peoRead moreple to sit together and watch tv, the other seating being in the sun room. The cleanliness of the property was to a very good standard. However in the small double room the bedside cupboard was full of empty biscuit and crisp packets and crumbs. There were also biscuit crumbs in the wardrobe of the single bedroom. Hide

We stayed at Sandstrath in August 2020, we enjoyed it so much that we booked it again for May bank holiday weekend 2021. The property is light and airy with everything you need. If youre a little unsteady on your feet then stairs might be a problem. A nice welcoming touch is the bag of local produce, coffee, tea, biscuits and bread along with some Read moremilk. Views out the back over the small but very adequate garden and its fields with sheep. A great time waster watching what theyre up to. If you have a dog and like walking its just a case of out the door, cross the road and youre into the sand dunes and onto the beach. Go left and its a lovely walk up to Budle bay past the castle along the beach. Head right and go to Seahouses. The locals are lovely, welcoming and like a chat. The locals pubs in Bamburgh are only a short walk too. Id book it again, in fact just been having a look at what dates are available. Hide
