Nestled amid verdant countryside to the south of Berwick-upon-Tweed, this charming lodge offers a peaceful base for your Northumbrian adventures. Set beside a wooded area just off the main road, this pretty cottage is close to a myriad of attractions, including the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and the Scottish border. Providing ample accommodation for four guests, it makes a wonderful base for a family holiday, a getaway with friends, or even a romantic escape for two.

Infused with a classic country charm, this single-storey cottage is warmly decorated with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The dual-aspect lounge is bright and airy, with a selection of comfortable seating and a grand red-brick fireplace, perfect for cosy nights in front of the TV or curling up with your current read. The roomy kitchen is sunlit and well equipped, promising satisfying home-cooked meals gathered around the family dining table. Alternatively, make the most of warm weather dining alfresco on the patio or simply enjoy an evening sundowner next to the mature lawned garden. The two bedrooms, a double and a spacious twin with an additional seating area, ensure a restful night’s sleep, while a family bathroom completes the interior.

The most northerly town in England, Berwick-upon-Tweed (6 miles) has a fascinating history, evident in its dominant town walls and the remains of a medieval castle. Cross the causeway to explore the castle and priory on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (7 miles), or venture further south to Seahouses Harbour (16 miles) where you can hop on a boat trip to see seabirds and seals on the Farne Islands. If you fancy popping into Scotland, the border is just 8 miles north.

Cottage was spacious and roomy but still retained it's cosiness. Perfect location close, but not too close to the A1. Lovely views including visiting deer. Beautiful dark skies We even saw the Northern lights

We really enjoyed our holiday and staying in Bolam's Lodge. Although it is very close to the A1 the noise of the traffic was not overly intrusive and it does make it very easy to travel to different locations in the area. The views across the fields were lovely and the garden was a delight with rabbits regular visitors. The cottage itself is very hRead moreomely and comfortable and well equipped. Our only very slight criticisms are, we felt it needed a little TLC in some areas, and a welcome pack after a long journey would have much appreciated. However, overall our experience of staying here was very enjoyable. Hide

Loved the cottage however the proximity of the A1 was distracting, traffic noise spoilt the bird song!

The Location is ideal for peace and quiet and relaxation. The cottage is very well equiped and clean. Short drive to supermarket and Berwick. Good updates with information from yourselves and the owner of cottage. This is our 2nd visit to this cottage.
