This charming, old miller's cottage is perfect for a small family or group of friends to enjoy a relaxing break in Northumberland. Situated in the quiet hamlet of Waren Mill on the edge of Budle Bay, it is within easy reach of many of the highlights of the beautiful Northumberland Coast. The charming village of Bamburgh is just 2 miles away with its imposing castle facing out to sea. There is also a good range of shops to browse and pubs and restaurants to visit, as well as a lovely sandy beach. Just 6 miles down the coast at the pretty fishing village of Seahouses, you’ll find a wider range of amenities. The working harbour here offers boat trips to visit the varied marine wildlife of the Farne Islands. There is wonderful walking all around with many country and coastal trails to follow. Further north, visitors can also visit the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, set around 13 miles away.
The cottage offers a welcoming and light-filled space for your Northumberland getaway. Guests will find an open-plan lounge and dining room with wooden floors throughout and seating gathered around a wood burner. There is a dining table adjacent and then a door through to the kitchen. With a high ceiling and skylight letting in plenty of natural light, the modern kitchen is a joy to spend time in. Here you will find a second smaller dining table and a back door leading to the garden. Upstairs on the first floor are two beautiful bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom is a double and the second bedroom features a zip-and-link bed that can be configured as either a twin or a king-size bed.
Outside, there is a small courtyard garden with a low stonewall and flower beds. Garden furniture is set up just outside the back door to the kitchen, so on bright days, it’s the ideal spot for dining or drinks in the open air.
