This charming, old miller's cottage is perfect for a small family or group of friends to enjoy a relaxing break in Northumberland. Situated in the quiet hamlet of Waren Mill on the edge of Budle Bay, it is within easy reach of many of the highlights of the beautiful Northumberland Coast. The charming village of Bamburgh is just 2 miles away with its imposing castle facing out to sea. There is also a good range of shops to browse and pubs and restaurants to visit, as well as a lovely sandy beach. Just 6 miles down the coast at the pretty fishing village of Seahouses, you’ll find a wider range of amenities. The working harbour here offers boat trips to visit the varied marine wildlife of the Farne Islands. There is wonderful walking all around with many country and coastal trails to follow. Further north, visitors can also visit the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, set around 13 miles away.

The cottage offers a welcoming and light-filled space for your Northumberland getaway. Guests will find an open-plan lounge and dining room with wooden floors throughout and seating gathered around a wood burner. There is a dining table adjacent and then a door through to the kitchen. With a high ceiling and skylight letting in plenty of natural light, the modern kitchen is a joy to spend time in. Here you will find a second smaller dining table and a back door leading to the garden. Upstairs on the first floor are two beautiful bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom is a double and the second bedroom features a zip-and-link bed that can be configured as either a twin or a king-size bed.

Outside, there is a small courtyard garden with a low stonewall and flower beds. Garden furniture is set up just outside the back door to the kitchen, so on bright days, it’s the ideal spot for dining or drinks in the open air.

A lovely cottage in a lovely location. We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed this cosy cottage very much once we had mastered the log burner and storage heating. Despite it being January, we had some beautiful walks on the coast. We loved the area and our meal at The Potted Lobster, just a couple of miles away, was excellent. You do need to book.

Immaculate cottage and very comfortable beds, couldnt be faulted. However parking potentially a bit tight as several cottages together all with designated spaces but careless parking could be a difficulty.

Eider Cottage was a perfect location for us. The quality of the cottage was much appreciated as well as its cleanliness. We felt welcomed by personal touches, information available and much of that had to do with the communications between the owner, Original Cotttages personnel and myself the client. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottaRead morege and the company for superb holiday accommodation. Hide

Unfortunately the property was very cold on arrival and remained so for a couple of days. Thankfully we were experienced in using a log burner. But worse than this by far was the fact that on arrival we had NO hot water until the next morning. We nearly left there and then - thank goodness you left a bottle of wine with which we drowned our sorrowsRead more! Hide

Comfortable, well equipped, restored cottage in a very quiet, picturesque hamlet. The information pack is extensive but rather jumbled with some out of date information and duplications. The phone signal is non existent in the cottage but the Wi-fi is good. Our query to the owners was responded to promptly and pleasantly. Would recommend.

excellent accommodation, very comfortable and warm. In an ideal location to explore the area, certainly deserves a return visit, one week`s stay was too short!

Lovely cottage in a great location. One small gripe, the cottage would benefit from new pillows. The ones supplied were very hard and flat. Other than that it was well equipped and very cosy.
