This exquisite stone property is enveloped by lush hedging and set in a prime location on the breathtaking Bamburgh coast. Sleeping eight guests across four bedrooms, this opulent ocean retreat is perfect for family gatherings and reunions with friends plus a couple of furry tag-a-longs. Blow away the cobwebs with a salty morning stroll along the expanse of golden sands at Bamburgh Beach (150 metres), before congregating for a celebratory breakfast spread on the patio.

An easy sentiment flows throughout this luxurious property. Unwind, surrounded by grand tall ceilings, elegant, upholstered furniture, and tranquil pastel hues. Slip off sandy shoes at the door then venture into the light-dappled kitchen/diner. Keen cooks can experiment with local produce while those with a flair for flavours, shake up some pre-dinner tipples. Mark your special occasion with a celebratory supper around the wooden table or step through the patio doors to feast alfresco. After dinner, pad beneath the archway into the lounge. Tend to the crackling wood burner then stretch out on the plump sofas for a catch-up. When night falls, retreat to the comfort of four tastefully appointed bedrooms, each with crisp sheets and fresh colour schemes. Choose from an en-suite king-size and a second king-size on the first floor. Ascend the stairs to discover a king-size overlooking Bamburgh Castle, and a bright twin. Outdoors, soak up the morning sun from the secluded courtyard garden, and listen to the waves crashing ashore.

Embark on a short saunter to admire the rugged grandeur of Bamburgh Castle (700 metres) and scope out the annual calendar of events. Listen to the fishermen’s boats clinking in Seahouses Harbour (4 miles) or feel the salty ocean spray during a bird-spotting boat trip to the Farne Islands (within 4 miles).

The Boathouse location was beautiful! However for 7 people there were 2 bathrooms. 1 was en-suite with a shower, bath and hand held shower. The other shared by the rest of the party (6 adults) had a shower, bath and toilet on the first floor. We felt this was inadequate. As the location was practically on the beach , there was a lot of sand andRead more it would of been useful to have an outside hosepipe at the back of the property to clean away the sand of us all before entering the house. The shower was blocked and we had to use a plunger everyday to unblock the shower. We have pictures to show you if needed. (I am guessing the owner is already aware of this as there is a clear water damage stain on the roof of the living room (under the shower)) The pans/oven trays and other kitchen utensils had to be cleaned before able to be used as they where dirty. The house is lovely but a few thing let it down, general maintenance really. There has obviously been a major leek from the bathroom through to the lounge ceiling at some point but the large patch on the ceiling has not been cleaned or painted over and has mould spores on it. Also, just a point , the upstairs bathroom does not have an extractor fRead morean or window which seems a bid odd The back door has some of the plastic hanging offf and sticking out. We did attempt to hoover as suggested in your folder but the hoover had a dodgy plug , (only worked if you wiggled the wire) and it was so full it just dumped what we did attempt to hoover up. We didnt empty it, when your paying the money we paid I dont want to start emptying hoovers . The outside would be lovely but we had to weed our way out of the patio doors, the path to the garden was over grown with difficulty getting passed , especially for my 4 year old grandson, more weeding to get through only to find the lawn hadnt been mown, for some time, looking at it and the top patio was also overgrown. It was however a secure garden for the dogs. We did however have good access to the beach ,which was clear. It is a great family house and a lovely setting with great beach access, just a bit tired and needs a some maintenance. We did have a great time and enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back. While we had a very lovely holiday, the lack of kitchen equipment (e.g. not enough cutlery, very limited glasses - only two tumblers) wasn't up to expectations. We had to go to the shop to purchase a potato peeler that actually worked. More instructions required - e.g. how to use the heating effectively, how to operate the oven. Also please notRead moree that the tumble dryer door doesn't close. The large bedroom downstairs does not heat up well with the two radiators that are in there. This needed extra heating that was provided on request. Hide

Whilst the house coped well with 8 people and is perfectly located, we were disappointed with some aspects of the provision. Examples: 1) No oven gloves (that we could find); 2) Bed-sheet with holes and rips on the bed in the main (downstairs) bedroom; 3) only 2 tea-towels - a busy household with 8 people needed 3x as many (consequently they were aRead morelmost permanently damp/wet); 4) several of the doors would not close properly (including door from hall into main downstairs bedroom); 5) no instructions (that we could find) regarding re-cycling; 6) lack of cleaning equipment (for instance, we could not find any dust-pan and brush); 7) no jugs (for milk or cooking).
